#read 2017

This was not my first read through of Nevermore and I enjoyed it just as much as the first time maybe more so because I had some idea of what was coming so I could look for the clues. Nevermore is about deception and misdirect. You see everything through the eyes of one character but everything is there for you to see if you know what to look for. Isobel isn't unreliable just what you expect from a teenage girl playing in a high stakes Poe world against her will.

I love the characters. No one is what they seem everyone has their strengths and weaknesses and all feel real, even the supernatural Nocs (I adore Pinfeathers, pain that he is). The high school stuff feels right but as an Aussie, I never had that experience per se, that said on some level high school is the everywhere. Everything about the settings seems like it is well laid out and developed with care, it is appreciated. Lastly, I want her dress. The one from the Grim Facade which is the one from the cover. It's so pretty.
