What did you think of Erida and Taristan's ending in Fate Breaker?
⚠️FB SPOILER (I guess?)⚠️
I read a line on tiktok that spoiled their ending for me when I was 75% done with the book over a month ago so I stopped reading. I mean, there are not many ways to misinterpret what I read but I could be wrong and maybe they live at the end 🥴. But the chances are veery low, and I only tried to read FB because of Eristan so I'm not taking my chances. I literally do not care about any other character... fine, maybe I care about Corayne and Sorasa, but their romantic storylines get on my fucking nerves, canceling out my interest.
I did think Erida's "My mind is my own" parallel with RB was absolutely brilliant and it left me in a state of literary anguish, clutching my eReader in pain. If you care. Another thing I liked is how Taristan's love for Erida grew and solidified, how fiercely he cared for her, even choosing her over What Waits, and being so unwilling to sacrifice any part of her to the god. But still remaining steadfast to her after she does. (again, at least to the point I read, and to my interpretation.) Like, how are they SO DAMN GOOD, such an elite ship, so narratively rich... stuck in a YA snoozefest 😭. They're so hot and for what?
In my mind, they escape through a spindle that throws them into an alternate world where they lose their memories but fate/soulmatism pulls them together again, except this time they get their happy ending. Oh and they're in a NA or adult book so they can do unspeakable things to each other.
