Accepts (he's very calm, rational, and understands)

Albedo: he understands why, and he's fine with it. especially if your relationship is something no one knows about, it'll be easier calling him your lab partner and friend. you both probably don't often go on missions together due to the busy schedules you both have, BUT when you're together, you probably often don't refer to each other in a very lovey-dovey way. at least in public; you two are very discreet! so, calling albedo something other than the endearing pet names you have reserved for behind closed doors is wayyy easier than you originally thought. and he's a very understanding boyfriend, so he definitely wouldn't throw a fit about this at all!

Chongyun: popsicle boy more than understands. he almost accepts a little too easily... he's not hurt by this, because your reasoning is rational and makes sense. he just wants you safe, so if he has to be your friend on a mission that's fine. everything is alright with him unless you start claiming you don't know who he is. then, and only then, is he bothered. if you bring this up in conversation, he may try to offer other ways to approach this, because he's like 0.001 bothered, but other than that everything is fine! just don't go around saying you don't know him because that's a huge shot in the chest that soft boy over here is not prepared for.

Diluc: this man understands completely! when you approached him about a mission jean was planning to send you on, he was a little worried, especially after he learned how far you'd be traveling... but when you asked him to accompany you on the long journey, he was relieved. the only minor issue is that he couldn't go as your boyfriend, due to issues of either one of you being targeted. he would go as your friend, the very well-known wine tycoon. he's not as bothered as many may think. why would he be? this is just a simple mission! no one would hit on you while he's at your side, he didn't need to be known far and wide as your boyfriend for men and women to stay away. he knows you can 100% handle yourself, so momentarily being referred to as your friend is alright.

Kaeya: telling kaeya you were going to stop calling him your boyfriend and all the nicknames attached in public was a blow to his heart, but guess what, if you have a reasonable enough explanation he totally understands. you tell him it has to do with a certain someone from your past intruding once again, and they're very dangerous, so he gets it and doesn't prod any fruther. he'll agree and not make a big fuss about it, only after he's done making a complete fuss about it. despite agreeing to accept, he teasingly asks you why you haven't been calling him this or that in public, and it takes a slap to the back of his head for him to 'remember' why you're only calling him captain or friend. this man is as smooth as butter so he'd never let it slip you're dating in a million years! but, that doesn't mean he doesn't pretend to let the secret slip, just to see your reaction. he walks the fine line of accepting but almost spilling the beans because he likes to tease you. don't worry though, after he's had his fun with you, just know he'll actually stop and leave it alone. but behind closed doors, the teasing doesn't necessarily stop ;)

Kazuha: he is definitely someone who agrees to this immediately, a little fast you joked. but he understands. you're from inazuma as well so you more than understand why your relationship needs to be kept on the down-low. especially since someone very close to you and kazuha perished, leaving you both as targets. even before your friends' murder, your relationship was a secret. so now that you're both outside of inazuma, you're definitely a little scared to share your true relationship with kazuha to outsiders. due to kazuha's involvement with the crux and finding people he trusts, he's much more comfortable sharing your relationship with the pirates. you, on the other hand, having spent much of your time in mondstadt after your friends' death, are a bit more... worried. if you admitted your involvement with kazuha, what would happen to him? would he be slain down? at least for a little while longer, you want to remain as friends on the outside, to the people who know you in mondstadt and the crux members who don’t know of your relationship. and kazuha's not against it either, as long as you come to terms that everything is alright on your own, he's more than fine keeping everything a secret!

Zhongli: telling him you would like to call him less friendly and endearing nicknames while in public, wasn't as much as a blow to his heart as you thought it would be. because he understands, and he's probably done it more than a few times as well, to keep you protected of course; he wouldn't just tell anyone you're his significant other, and vice versa. but this week you were meeting with some pretty dangerous people, alongside ningguang and yanfei to discuss legal action when it comes to a few individuals accused of money laundering; obtaining mora through illegal actions. during this time, zhongli offered to help in any way he could, and removing romantic gestures was rather easy. no one asked about your relationship because of how inconspicuous you two were being. but don't get me wrong, when this all blows away, he's less than a liyuen nobleman to you, assisting this case.

Accepts (he may accept, but that doesn't mean he isn't bothered)

Aether: poor boy! he's so hurt. what do you mean you don't want to call him your boyfriend??? sure, being called just a friend is fine because he is that too, but he's also your boyfriend so :( but after some thorough explaining done by beidou, he starts to understand why you both can't waltz into inazuma, while you complete your own individual task, and openly share your relationship status. he's THE knight, the one many know of now and are possibly after. it's safer for you to play under the guise of friends, more preferably traveling companions while in inazuma, especially since he's heard baal is a very very tough cookie. if she's anything like kazuha has shared with him, it's best you don't refer to aether as your boyfriend, especially if you cross her. she'd easily been the root of all of kazuha's pain, loss, and suffering. he didn't want that for either of you... so, for now, you're strictly traveling as companions or friends.

Razor: he can come to terms with this because he'll follow just about any order you give him. he trusts you wholeheartedly, and it's your word above all! but, in the back of his mind, there are times he wonders why? why does he have to be your friend again? it just doesn't make sense! lisa has to explain a few times, and each time he comes to terms with it again, but there are still those moments when he questions it. do you not want to be his significant other? would you rather be with someone else? but don't worry! he'll get over those fears as long as you reassure him that this is just a front while on this mission. reassure him that although to the public your title is friends, you're much more than that. and after, he'll totally be at ease.

Xiao: when your life was being threatened due to your title of an adepti, he knew it was important for you to go into hiding, effectively immediately. and for your safety, he accepts this instantly, without questions asked. but when zhongli tells him it's better for you two to not see or speak to one another, he is a little bothered. especially when you told him he might as well forget you were together, at least for the time being; it was a little harsh but you wanted to get your point across!! like razor, there's this insecure feeling bubbling within him. he wonders if he's strong enough, worthy enough, to be your lover. it doesn't matter how many times you reassure him that once this all blows over, you two can be together again and express your love to one another publicly or not. until then, he'd wait. waiting was going to be the easy part, he's waited for you to finally be his for thousands of years; what's another thousand, is his thought process. but when some of the younger liyuen's, such as xingqiu and hutao come to him and wonder where his graceful lover is, he can't help but feel momentarily defeated as he tells them you two were never together, just fellow adepti, co-workers, if you will. overtime, he'll come to terms with it, but for now, it does bother him a bit more than he'd admit.

Accepts (he accidentally/not so accidentally lets it slip)

Childe: you're not affiliated with the fatui, so any other group is practically a rival to them. you can't tell your affiliated group who he is to you and vice versa. but he so badly wants to share the secret... childe, like kaeya, walks the thin line of keeping the secret but wanting to prioritize his teasing and corny jokes instead. he'd much rather joke and tease about the nature of your true relationship than ever keep it a secret, and that's pretty much known. only very few of the fatui know of his secret, one being scaramouche after prying the information out of childe one day, and the other being signora who accidentally listened in on your conversation one day… despite how often he fought with scaramouche, and la signora's annoyance to be affiliated with the both of them, they still were his closest friends! so of course, he'd feel comfortable enough around them to joke, and in the process, let it slip that he was dating you. ahhh, it takes so much bribing of scaramouche to not snitch and rat him out to the tsaritsa, and a lot of pleading with la signora to leave you alone; she was more concerned with meeting you, to see if you were truly worthy of dating childe, and far too busy judging you. how they found out? well, he'd accidentally let the joke carry on for too long and shared a bit too much information. unlike kaeya, childe is less than smooth and doesn't know how to keep this specific secret for the LIFE of him, so it's very hard, and practically eating him alive. he's a good keeper of secrets, only in the beginning though. give or take a few months the secret will be out to the entirety of the fatui.

Bennett: ahh, benny... he's so clumsy, he's BOUND to let it accidentally slip during a mission. he understands you want to only call him your friend for the sake of the mission, and that doesn't mean he's not bothered by it, but it works! momentarily... when you're both fighting a large group of treasure hoarders, one of them taunts what his purpose is if he's so clumsy and can't even do one thing right, and benny takes that PERSONALLY. he KNOWS he's not supposed to let it slip, but at this moment, he can't help but scream, "I'm their boyfriend, that's who! and i'm a pretty awesome one if i do say so myself." and suddenly, everything between hammers to swords drops and the world falls silent for a minute. you immediately scold bennett when you return home, claiming although his gesture was... sweet. it was definitely dangerous to reveal. jean had strictly said personal relationships should be kept on the down-low, no matter strength or rank of those involved. and he feels so bad because once again he goofed up. he's so upset about it and doesn't let it go the whole journey home. just reassure him that it wasn't the biggest deal in your opinion, because in the end, you both kicked ass together.

Xingqiu: this boy strikes me as someone who is a blabbermouth, and i know for sure he'd either accidentally or not so accidentally let it slip that you're really together when you're not supposed to be. your parents would NEVER accept your relationship. one, because you're their child duh, they're your stereotypical overprotective parents, and two, xingqiu is well... xingqiu. in their book (heh), he'd never be a good match for you, especially if you come from a stoic lineage. he's too much of a goofball for them to handle or be taken seriously. but when they were finally free and caught you and xingqiu together one evening running around liyue harbor, they were more than shocked to see their child with a boy?! your more overprotective parent was seething with anger, you had never seen them so bothered until now. but don't worry (or so you thought), xingqiu always managed to talk himself out of sticky situations, and this time had to be no different! you've told your boyfriend a thousand and one times, that if he ever by chance ran into your parents, never EVER tell them you're dating. he was simply a friend in your little group of friends. WRONG. because it seems like the script you spent hours teaching him had been washed down the drain. he's too carefree, and he forgot completely who he was supposed to say he was smh. instead of introducing himself as your friend, he told your seething parents exactly who he was.

DON'T!!! (his pride is obliterated and feelings are extremely hurt)

Scaramouche: unless the mission is incredibly important and life-threatening on both ends, then you should have nor want no reason to call him a friend or just a co-worker. after all these years, after finally coming to terms and accepting how he feels about you, YOU'RE the one who wants to backtrack and turn the clocks? why? are you insane? let's just say scaramouche's pride is shattered. how DARE you tell him you decided your official title would be friends until everything with the traveler blew over. how dare you!!! he feels anger, humiliation, and rejection, and guess what? he loathes it all. he doesn't really care if you're both in danger, because he knows he's more than capable of keeping you both safe, and vice versa. he's with you for a reason. he loves you of course, but he also knows you can handle your own. he will flat out tell someone who he is to you, meanwhile mosey around what you are to him because he's embarrassed to admit his feelings bye. his response to you calling him just a friend is, "we're not just friends, you idiot. stop telling people that!" he'll either be really blunt or like i said, mosey around the matter as much as he can. all i'm going to say is, if you don't want to be lashed out at, DO NOT call him a friend or anything in that vein.

Venti: tsk tsk. as much of a strong front he puts up when it comes to this, this bard, in particular, is a clingy little bastard, and he just can't accept this at the end of the day. why? because, well why would he want to have you refer to him as a friend, or even worse, a stranger? i feel like he would despise flat-out rejection, and if you're trying to call him a friend or stranger due to a mission, well then, that's the biggest form of rejection in his book! venti shows how bothered he is by this as he complains and whines, and is nearly bowing at your feet to not go through with this. "please, y/n! don't break my little heart." yes, he's practically begging. never would you have thought an archon to be bowing at your feet... a literal GOD pleading for you not to break his heart. and as much as it breaks your own heart, you have to go through with this! a mission is a mission, and if this can keep venti safe, you're all for it. although, if your life is in danger then, of course, he'll allow it! but he's going to want to mosey around the fact for a while, and ignore that you're actually calling him a friend... but if you're just trying to protect him, he'll laugh it off, and say he can protect himself. he jokes that he'd much rather face death than ever hear you call him a friend or stranger, AHH.

Albedo

he can understand wholeheartedly the need to feel as though all you can do is apologize.

he rambles quite a bit when he's learned something new, and when he also happened to come across someone willing to listen, he can talk for hours surprisingly; hence leaving him continuously apologizing afterward for taking up so much of their time, etc..

but because of this similarity, albedo can comfort and relate to you the best!!

he knows what words to say and not, and he'll always be there to reassure you that apologizing isn't necessary.

"please, it was an accident love, there's no need to keep apologizing."

he would never snap at you for the habit, even if you're constantly saying sorry and it may become a bother; never in his eyes though.

as your significant other, it's his job to comfort you, and if the kind of comfort you need is to be told you don't need to ever worry with him, then he'll tell you to the best of his ability!

sometimes though, he doesn't understand why you apologize so easily...

if you haven't done anything wrong but are profusely saying sorry for someone else's mistakes? he can't understand that, but within seconds he'll be by your side to make sure you stop; only because you shouldn't say sorry for something you had no part of, it's unfair!!! :(

that's basically like cleaning up someone's mess you didn't create, and he doesn't favor that one bit!

at the end of the day, albedo's main goal is to help you feel confident enough in your choices and decisions, that you aren't saying you're sorry for every little thing.

DOESN'T UNDERSTAND AT ALL!!

why apologize? when your life is so much better than the person you're apologizing to; you're with a harbinger DUH.

and if you're better than someone else, why stoop to their level to say you're sorry for your accomplishments? they should be bowing at your feet, bowing to royalty.

scaramouche will ALWAYS tell you the hard way, that apologizing doesn't make you more likable if that's what you're trying to do.

"stop being a pushover." he'd tell you if you apologized for someone else's mistakes, because goodness, he despises this so much!

he doesn't offer any real comfort with his words, but he does compliment you quite a bit without realizing it; boosting your confidence! <3

he'll say, "why would you apologize to scum? you're so much better than them."

sure he's a little harsh, but he honestly does mean well.

because one, KNOW YOUR WORTH LIKE HE DOES, and two, it's annoying to him.

scaramouche is someone you've never heard an apology from in your life, so of course, he will not sit by and watch you continuously say sorry for however long you live, hell no.

he's going to be the one to interject whenever he can and he makes it known, that while you're no harbinger, you don't need to be what he labels as "soft" or a "pushover".

during extra hard training, you are always handing out drinks and snacks to the younger fatui recruits who grow tired much faster, telling them you're sorry for the hard training, a little too sympathetic as if they'd just lost a loved one.

scara is by your side in SECONDS, telling you, "for once, do not accommodate to their needs. who cares if they can't handle it?"

this man doesn't care why you're always apologizing, but he'll be damned to see you keep doing it, so he's going to do whatever he needs to do to get you to stop; respectively </3

Xiao

it's not that he doesn't understand the need to constantly apologize, but he doesn't like how often you do it. you shouldn't have to apologize for every little thing... that's no way to live life.

he rarely has the need to apologize because well he doesn't speak to others enough to possibly offend them, etc.

there's just never a need with his occupation and personality; he's the one saving people, they should be thanking him.

but he understands the guilt, for whatever reason it may be, and chalks it up to why you do what you do; that doesn't mean he likes it though...

xiao, much like scaramouche, is a bit rough with his wording, but he always means well! <3

he's highly intuitive and often stops you right before you're about to apologize again for whatever reason.

but he's short and to the point when he decides to share his opinions with you, and he's someone who does sincerely care, and just has a hard time expressing verbally how much.

which is why, he'll always remind you to, "stop apologizing, there's no need."

but also, if that doesn't seem to scratch the surface and you start beginning to apologize, he'll gently place a hand over your mouth; entirely meaning well of course!

he may even give you a short hug, something meant to reassure you and help understand that everything is alright, there's no need to worry about apologizing to him or anyone for that matter!. <3

xiao will always pull away though before anyone can see, cause duh he's a tsundere, telling you one last time to, "stop apologizing."

All afternoon, you had been trying to avoid this guy who would not leave you alone. It seemed to be his mission to try and swoon you the best he could, and he sure as hell was persistent. But with his persistence, came utter failure. He would never be able to win you ever, not if you were single, or even if he was the last man in Teyvat.

He was just too... Small-minded, reminiscent of many around you. Ununique, and an utter bore to be around.

"I'm sorry, I'm not interested." You stated once again, eyes diverting away from his dark eyes to scan the area for your significant other. Archons, you wanted out of this situation and away from this man right now...

"I'm sure we'd have a great time! Just one drink." He tried to reason, only falling on deaf ears choosing to close his annoying voice out. Your head shook in response, but you knew he wouldn't stop there though.

"I have a fresh bottle of Sir Ragnvindr's wine, ready to be popped open. So how about it?" He wondered, hand going behind his head to scratch at the hairs at the base of his neck.

"He and I are actually close friends, I can enjoy his wine whenever I wish." You noticed how his grin faltered and disappeared, a frown replacing it. You grinned to yourself, maybe his heart was broken enough that he'd give up and go away.

How close? He wanted to question. But he also wanted to remain hopeful...

"Ah... I presume he must be your significant other?"

"No, of course not. We're friends." His smile returned, you only scowled unimpressed. So, he would dare disrespect your significant other, but could never stoop that low when it came to the wine tycoon? How absurd.

What an absolute ass kisser, you thought.

"So,-" he started, but your loud sigh silenced him.

"Listen, I don't know how to say this, but I'll just keep it nice and short," He waited eagerly for your response, stomach bubbling with nerves for whatever you were about to confess to him.

The man watched you lean forward to stand on the tips of your toes, hands going to clasp behind your back, before grinning at him cheekily.

"would you like to be the strong man you believe you are and introduce yourself to my husband, or shall i?"

When Scaramouche stepped away to deal with some business in Liyue Harbor, you never thought he'd be gone this long.

He couldn't have become lost, no. He'd been here hundreds of times, so, knowing him he must've got caught up with a vendor, arguing without a doubt... He had a tendency to pick fights with just about anyone.

But his absence meant you were stuck sitting lonely on one of the benches by the water, giving men and few women the opportunity to try and claim you. With your intimidating husband by your side, no one dared to speak nor glance your way. Scaramouche would have their head, no matter the person and their status. But momentarily, he was nowhere to be seen, while a particularly irritating man tried to flirt with you.

"If you don't mind me asking, where are you from?" Said man wondered, slithering beside you on the bench, a little too close for comfort.

"Somewhere far." You raised your hand in the air, motioning in no particular direction, rather flaunting the beautiful gem on your ring finger, hoping he'd catch your drift before you or rather Scaramouche shut him down embarrassingly.

But he either didn't notice or care. So, he was confident he'd claim you, hmm? How laughable! He never stood a chance.

He hummed in thought. "Based on your attire, I'd say Inazuma." You didn't confirm nor deny but remained to stare into the distance at the sparkling water. He noticed your lack of care for him and opted to scoot closer in hopes of gaining your attention. This time you looked at him, he smiled.

"I actually leave today to return home with my husband."

The man's frown faltered ever so slowly before it tugged up once more. "Ah, you're married? I can see why, you're the most heavenly being I have ever seen." You cringed at his flirtatious comments, which did nothing but urge an unsettling feeling to uproot in your stomach. Were the men of this nation always this persistent, rude, and filthy mannered? You had once met a certain young boy with blue hair and he was nothing but kind to you during your last visit! But this man was different... He luckily must've never come across the sixth harbinger, or else he would've never dared speak to you at all.

"Your husband is one lucky man, but maybe he isn't so deserving."

"He's more than deserving." You snipped. He laughed. This must be some kind of game to him, how unfortunate.

"What kind of man is he may I ask? Surely, if he was so great he wouldn't leave you to sit pretty by yourself.”

"I don't think I should tell you." You hid behind your black shawl bashfully, speaking in a soft tone that spurred him to move closer.

"You must be ashamed." He sneered, you only smirked at his foolish comments.

"No, I'm actually not. But I don't think you want to know." You explained cheekily, eyes traveling down to your glistening ring. Out of the corner of your eye, you spotted the small-minded man puff his chest out as if he was trying to prove whatever imaginary strength he had was existent and worthy of winning your affections.

"Try me, there aren't many adequate men in this world, surely he isn't that great." He boasted, to which you scoffed at. How ironic, you thought. Was he speaking from experience, because he was one?

Turning to fully face the Liyuen native with dark hair, you asked, "Have you ever heard of a man named Scaramouche?"

He laughed, with the shake of his head. You chuckled, only encouraging him to laugh more. But what he didn't realize was that you weren't laughing with him, rather at him. You were mocking him for his foolishness.

"Maybe his official title will help you understand," You stated, moving closer to glare at him. "Number six of the Fatui's eleven Harbingers, Balladeer."

"Ring a bell?" You wondered.

He seemed oddly cheery for a man about to get his ass kicked in mere minutes. "Nope never heard of him!"

You hummed, pretending as if you were sad by this news. But honestly, you couldn't be more overjoyed. His embarrassment would be the highlight of your day, by far the most interesting interaction since your husband's timely departure.

"Aww, how unfortunate for you." You said nonchalantly, moving to stand, he mimicked you naturally. The man watched with a puzzled expression as you stepped closer to him, his entire being frazzled by how close you were. "Would you look at that! It seems as though he's right on time," You smiled mischievously, gripping the slender man's arms and spinning him harshly around to spot your hat adorning lover sauntering in your direction.

The Liyuen native didn't seem fazed at first, but then it slowly and eventually set in. You weren't sure if he actually recognized Scaramouche or if he noticed how unpleased your significant other looked, realizing he'd have to face a less than pleased husband to the woman he continuously tried to swoon. What a coward!

You grinned evilly, pushing his stiff body forward. He practically stumbled over himself.

"Would you like to be the strong man you believe you are and introduce yourself to my husband, or shall I?" You asked, finding great joy in embarrassing him before he did in the presence of your husband.

"I'm sure my introduction would be less than satisfactory! I could tell him so many things,"

"I'm not sure what he'd be more pissed at! The fact that you thought it was okay to flirt with me, or that you disrespected both me and him."

xiao

"i live in natlan, but i travel to liyue often, so if you want to see me, come find me there!"

Today hadn't been going good at all, and to make matters worse, this woman would not leave you alone... Her compliments - rather shameless flirting - were easy to deal with at first. But now it was just annoying and disrespectful towards Xiao, your significant other.

She truly had no shame, and it was despicable. At first, you thought she was trying to flirt with Xiao, as she had sat oddly close to him when she originally approached. But only seconds later did you realize she only sat that close to rub in his face her flirtatious advances being sent in your direction.

Surprisingly, Xiao didn't even bother with her as he might've on any other day. You weren't sure why, but he'd simply scoffed and disappeared from sight. You'd have to ask him about that when you were calmed down, much, much later.

"All I'm saying is I think you're really cool, and I'd love-"

"You don't have any shame, do you?" You growled.

"I told you already a dozen times, I'm in a relationship."

"It looks like it's on the fence." She stated nonchalantly, hands clasping together in her lap. You stared at her, truly speechless.

You couldn't tell if she actually liked you or not because insulting someone and their relationship was not an indicator of their affections towards them at all. And even Xiao had his... grumpy moments, but he never once insulted you despite popular belief.

"Excuse me?"

"Oh no! I just noticed how your so-called boyfriend just... disappeared."

You wanted to yell that it was all her doing, but causing a scene was not what you wanted. Not right now in front of families, couples, and friends, all enjoying the beautiful sunny day, even if yours was going pretty crappy. Although your day was already ruined, you didn't have to ruin everyone else's around you.

"You don't know a thing about him or our relationship." You snapped, moving to stand and get out of her presence, but she followed you like she had been doing for the last thirty minutes.

"All I'm asking is for one date! Then I'll leave you be until then."

With a huff of annoyance, you halted and turned abruptly to face the woman. "One date?" You asked, eyes lighting up with mischievous intentions. She was pathetic to believe you would dare disrespect Xiao, it was truly laughable.

"Yes! That's all I ask." She smiled. You hummed, appearing as though you were thoughtfully thinking when you already had your answer chalked up.

"Alright..." Her smile brightened significantly, and she jumped for joy.

"I live in Natlan, but I travel to Liyue often. I'll be returning this tomorrow, so if you want to see me, come find me there!" You said sarcastically, nearly cackling to yourself when her smile widened. So she was persistent but oddly gullible. What a combo for someone trying and failing to win you over.

"Really?! Thank you!"

You hummed, turning around to saunter off.

"If you want to beat me there and prepare for our date, you should probably leave early! Maybe today," You hinted, to which she eagerly nodded.

The journey to Natlan for a foreigner can be long and strenuous! Better beat me there!" You explained with the wave of your hand. With that, you momentarily turned back around, moving out of earshot and vision of her happy laughs and jumps for joy. Only to turn back around when you were a good distance away from the annoying woman to see that she was running off in the direction of Liyue's exit.

You smirked to yourself.

How gullible. You weren't even from Natlan. You had never even visited the land! And you wouldn't be doing that any time soon...

Refuses (tells people you’re his s/o and compromises the mission)

Childe: for some odd reason, he was sent out by the Tsaritsa to retrieve a man who was impersonating one of the eleven harbingers and you were to go along. she said men were much more willing to follow along, if there was a beautiful woman promising affection, etc. the only problem was, to win over the impersonator, you had to pretend to be Childe’s co-worker. he hated this idea, and the minute he left, he reassured you he would not call you his partner unless it was romantically. so hell yeah, he’ll compromise the mission and will return without the impersonator. he does not care, you’re not his co-worker. he’ll just be like, “sorry, next time send me alone.”

Venti: jean why... ofc you'd be great company duh, but why did you need to be his babysitter on this expedition?!? sure, Venti may look like a child, but this was stupid! he’s loose-lipped anyways, so he’ll accidentally let it slip to whoever that you’re not his babysitter and that you’re his s/o. he’ll be like, “oops.” with the biggest shit-eating grin. he doesn’t care though, you’re not his babysitter grrr. 

Razor: he also accidentally lets it slip you’re his s/o. hunters were after him and his friends, you included (you’re human, he considers you family though, therefore wolf) and he just yells, “don’t touch my mate, GRRR” before ya know, ending them lmao. it never crossed his mind that maybe it wasn’t in his/your best interest to say what you were to him. other hunters could be nearby listening and then target you at a later date. but, tbh he will worry about that another day. as long as you’re safe now, he’ll always be there to protect you. 

Refuses (he doesn’t refuse the mission, but he refuses calling you someone other than his s/o/he won’t say if you’re his s/o or not.) 

Kaeya: he definitely won’t be calling you anything other than his s/o but he also won’t offer this mission to anyone else. he’s more than capable and he can do this without you having to be in danger too. if someone asks who you are, he’ll just cooly respond with, “none of your business.” and move on. he’ll use that whenever someone asks who you are. even if someone gets a little pushy, he won’t use anything to clue them of your relationship.

Xingqiu: he was supposed to borrow steal a book from someone. he needed it for personal purposes lol; it would be great for his collection. and from his understanding, the person who has it wasn’t using it. though you were confused on why he needed to break into somewhere to retrieve it. you just happened to be with him when he broke in, he says it was an accident that you were there, but tbh it’s all part of the thrill and his mischievousness. despite Chongyun warning him that he shouldn’t have brought you, he still did. and when the person who owns the book whips out a sword and then asks why you were brought along if you seemed timid and unreluctant to steal, Xingqiu’s response is, “well she’s my girlfriend! duh.” cue deadpan. legit no hesitation.

Scaramouche: this mission is happening no matter what. the Tsaritsa’s life is on the line; highly trained assassins from all over Teyvat were sent into Snezhnayan territory to kill her. she could protect herself, but Scaramouche was feeling feverish for battle; he was one of the more unhinged and dangerous harbingers, she entrusted this task upon him. he never turned down a mission. plus, it’s your fault you’re even here. why are you here again!? he left you home in Inazuma days ago. also... who the hell was looking after your daughter if not you...?? when you caught up with him once he was well away from Liyue Harbor’s docks (so he couldn’t force you to get back onto the ship, smart) you told him you weren’t some housewife and you missed the thrill of adventure, so you snuck on the ship too. he wasn’t sure how you got on in the first place without alerting The Kanjobugyo (you’ve snuck out before, so he’s told them not to let you leave, though he assumed you used your former title of a Fatui to gain clearance) let’s just say he’s not happy you’re here, but he’s not turning back now, he’s determined to end this. in the end, he kills all the assassins (ofc). on your way back to Liyue Harbor, arguing about why you’re here (you’re losing), another assassin comes out of the shadows; intent on killing the both of you. he’d managed to grab the end of your hair in his fist and was going to slit your throat. Scaramouche will say, “don’t touch my wife, you insolent scum.” he doesn’t have a problem telling those who have a death wish of your intimate relationship, because they’ll die in the end anyway; therefore to him, it’d be like they never knew. 

Zhongli: not many people know you’re his s/o anyways, so if he has something to do, especially dangerous you’re not coming along. he’ll make sure of that. on missions or something, he refuses to call you anything other than his s/o, but if he can’t/wants to keep it private he’ll call you by your name. if you’re facing off against someone, he’ll be like, “y/n, please watch out, I’ll handle this.” he never wants to put you in danger, and tbh even someone threatening who knows your name is a risk, but if they ever found out that you were not only his s/o but the s/o of an Archon? yeah, you’d be on a hit list just like him. 

Accepts (he will do this and won’t ask any questions)

Diluc: sorry y’all, but once this is discussed in full and you agree, he’s going to accept it. this mission is important. it’s not often people travel into Inazuma, so he was very lucky his wine is sold there and that he has a popular, well-known name. shipments of his wine weren’t making it into the borders and he was to find the culprit behind it; someone was stealing obviously. you were to go along with a few other soldiers and when jean told him it would be safer to call you his maid and not his fiancé, he agreed. you wouldn’t be a target that way. if anyone wonders why he took his maid, he’ll just say, “she’s to travel everywhere with me.” don’t worry, after the missions over he’ll reassure you he doesn’t think of you as his maid, definitely not. he’ll apologize profusely. “please don’t think of yourself that way, you’re not my maid, I adore you very much, sweetheart.”

Xiao: he already doesn’t go around calling you his wife or telling just anyone, only the Archons know and the fallen Yaksha once knew (you’re one of the female Yaksha) so being talked into this wasn’t a big deal at all. before, he didn’t run around Liyue telling people about your relationship because you both enjoyed the privacy. but now, having to call you his fellow Yaksha who’s been working alongside him for centuries, kinda feels like he’s ignoring or not acknowledging you. sure, you do hold the same titles (Yaksha) and yes you’ve known eachother for centuries, but really, you’ve been together for centuries. if you’re not bothered, then he doesn’t mind. but if you are? he’s very apologetic and will repay you in some way. “you’re not a weakling, you have no reason to worry.” he needs to do this task, he’ll never turn away from the people and if you have to be known as your Yaksha title to him and others, so be it. 

Chongyun: it’s not that he doesn’t want to call you his s/o. it’s just he’s a quiet guy and never has told anyone about your relationship; only Xingqiu knows. so he has no problem introducing you as his friend to absolute strangers, especially if you’re okay with it. if you’re not and tell him, he’ll be sure to never call you a friend again. he’s really looking out for your safety, people can be two-faced as he’s learned from Xingqiu’s fantasy books. he wants to protect and keep you safe, and if you need to be addressed as his friends a few times then that’s how it’s going to go. 

Accepts (he’ll accept but he has so many questions on why and hates it)

Albedo: he will accept if there’s a logical reason. for example, if you absolutely need to come because you’re his assistant or something and can offer your expertise, he will accept. but if you have no need? you’re not coming, please stay home. the whole time, he hates this. yes, you’re his assistant irl, but you’re his s/o, not just an assistant. it makes him sick that he has to call you that tbh, even if it’s your occupation. but it’s necessary for a lot of reasons you two have already discussed. after the mission is complete, he’s never going to stop apologizing. “love, please do not take what I said to heart, you’re not just an assistant.”

Aether: he has to be talked into this a lot. once kaeya and jean tell him the seriousness and importance of seeing his sister again, especially after all they’ve discovered about her, he’ll agree. no matter how much he hates calling you his travel partner, he has to. his sister has turned to the dark side for whatever reason and this meeting already is risky enough. if she finds out you’re his girlfriend, who knows how she’ll react; she’s very unpredictable now, a little unhinged even. but it does hurt to have to call you that, let’s be real. he never wants to say or hear that ever again.

Bennett: he knows he’s quite unfortunate, so you going with him on expeditions is just stupid and you could face something awful due to his bad luck. you go either way though, what a good s/o :) he almost slips a few times, especially facing off against a few lowlife Fatui. but then you remind him of the dangers of doing that and you’re immediately just a friend/member of Benny's Adventure Team. pls, he hates this so much, like why can’t he call you what you are?!? he’s constantly like, “well why can’t I just say you’re my s/o already? they won’t harm you as long as I’m here!” ?!?!?!? HE JUST DID?!?!?!?!

aether

he's heard the arguing between your neighbors for months now, and he hates it. he was worried after the very first time he'd heard the two screaming males one morning.

you explained this always happened when they went out to collect mail from their respective mailboxes on the daily mail came and they just happened to meet on accident.

from your understanding, their arguing had been happening long before you even moved in. to say the least they hated each other's guts. you could say you felt the same for the pair.

aether knows you have to study, and he's witnessed you countless amounts of times just put everything back in your school bag and flop on your bed out of annoyance and irritancy.

cause how can anyone study for important exams or do homework when two idiots are yelling at one another from their respective doors? yeah, no one.

and not to mention sleeping archons. how are you expected to sleep when they're yelling 24/7?? exactly, you CAN'T

he offers for you to stay with him instead of letting the worry fester within him any longer! he blurts it out one afternoon over bubble tea lol.

"you can always stay with me! i have more than enough space in my apartment, and tons of good snacks! plus, you can use my switch when you get bored!"

"this isn't supposed to be a fun slumber party, babe! i have tons of school work."

ah yes, school, ew. without a doubt, you don't want to impose on your boyfriend space and privacy, but this living situation has grown intolerable.

so, you take up his offer and move in with him temporarily, at least until summer starts and you don't have school to worry about.

aether is such a fun roommate! he may not be the cleanest, but his apartment isn't the messiest either.

plus, being around him almost 24/7 is awesome :) he's such a kindhearted fun guy, and he lifts your spirits.

albedo

he doesn't say anything for the longest time tbh. but he recognizes the amount of sleep you seemed to have lost ever since you moved into your new apartment...

he assumed it was just exhaustion from the move. after all, carrying heavy boxes up and down the huge flight of stairs was no easy task, and then packing for days afterward? yes, he assumed the exhaustion got to you like any normal person.

but he didn't realize it was your neighbors keeping you up and adding to the exhaustion.

he's not clueless, but he assumes that if you truly wanted help you would ask!

right? wrong.

why should all of your issues be your boyfriend's burden? especially this, something so insignificant that will probably go away if the right person complains to your ignorant landlord. that is your thought process.

but after weeks of this happening, he decides to bring it up as soon as he sees you barely able to carry your body weight from the exhaustion.

"would you like me to say something to them?"

"don't worry, it's fine." "are you sure?" "yep."

once again, no.

albedo isn't the one for confrontation, but he'd do anything to see you healthy and happy. so, taking this to the neighbors it is then! even if you say you're fine. he's grown tired and more so, worried to see you sluggishly move around your apartment whenever he comes over.

at first, after speaking to them they don't care for what he has to say, rudely so. he realized that when they hurriedly apologized before slamming the door in his face, and no later than two days after, begin being loud again...

so he offers for you to stay with him... but-

"not all of us got a full ride to a nerdy, science college and sleep in a luxurious dorm."

yes, he nearly forgot. his college wouldn't allow you to spend the night with him. you two don't even go to the same college, so that's way out of the question. unless...

"albedo, are you sure your roommate isn't here?"

"yes, xingqiu is with his friend this week." :) aka chongyun

"i'm not so sure about sneaking in here- what if we get caught?"

"we won't. just rest, love."

all pretty boy wants is for you to get a good nights rest <3 risking his time at this prestigious school is SO worth it.

razor

he doesn't want to see you upset! like all of these boys.

but, protecting you come instinctively.

sure he's not a wild animal, he's your overly loving, protective boyfriend! but, like i said, he just wants to protect you.

if you complain about your neighbors being too loud or even if you don't, razor knows the situation will only worsen from here. he knows people like that never change.

he decides to take immediate action, to get you safely out of there.

without a doubt in his mind, he knows he's doing what's best for you, even if it's something so minor.

"you, come stay with me?" he asked one evening after pacing around your small apartment, nerves flowing through his body.

the yelling and stomping upstairs only seemed to worsen now that he was here. or maybe that was his anxious heart beating rapidly, he wasn't sure. but whatever it was, he didn't like it, you weren't safe here!

"your place is too deep in the woods... don't worry! i'll be alright here-"

"no! that's not a problem, come." he doesn't give you enough time to even argue about this and he's already booking you two out of the door, shocking you when he snatched a large black tote of yours off of the floor by the door. you noticed various white cables and something lacey - your underwear you assumed - peeking out.

"when did you grab all of this stuff?"

"no time to speak. must get away."

"r-razor!"

he was already prepared to say the least.

you'd have everything you needed at his place, he always made sure of it, just in case.

and even if he did manage to grab some things from your own home, he was definitely prepared for the possibility he missed something!

clothes, hygiene products, your favorite snacks, he has it all, despite living in the middle of basically nowhere (if this is in a modern setting, i know razor would live in a log cabin or sum in the woods BYE)

razor knows you're in good hands, with him, safe in the quiet forest. and you'll be able to catch some z's for sure :)

scaramouche

he's not tolerating this shit at all, BYE.

these dumb college kids and their stupid ass parties. he despised them. absolutely nothing is stopping him from going over to their apartment, after what was supposed to be a chill evening, and pounding on their door.

you definitely can't stop him, and you're not so sure you want to... they deserve whatever comes their way! and whatever words scaramouche has for them, you hope it's enough to help them understand that they can't party every night, for hours on end. they have other neighbors, and the apartment walls are far too thin for you not to hear.

all that group of three college students does is keep you up all night with their incessant partying and then hours later after they can't take the alcohol anymore, wander drunkenly down your hall for even longer, slumping and banging against the thin walls.

you figured scaramouche was going easy on them since they seemed to not care about his complaints, but maybe he wasn't and they were just ignorant... you never knew scaramouche to go easy on those kids, so maybe they grew some balls.

he didn't return defeated, but he definitely returned some type of way because he looked more irritated than when you watched him leave your apartment.

"i keep telling you, brat. those idiots are ignorant. just come live with me."

sure, his apartment was extremely nice, and he for sure didn't have any nosy, loud, or ignorant neighbors to worry about.

it sat high in the clouds in the upper city, practically a penthouse. scaramouche's job paid well, so he could more than afford it.

but, moving in with your significant other was a huge step. and you weren't so sure you could afford to pay rent and utility bills at his place, especially since it was so expensive... you remember being there when he signed the contracts for the place, and you had seen lots of zero's at the end of the check...

and sure, he was wealthy, he could more than afford both the rent and utility bills, all you had to do was give him the green light to move in and it would all work out. but, you didn't want to depend on him, like some kind of leech.

"i'm waiting for marriage." you joked.

"we're practically married," he argued.

you weren't so sure you caught that proclamation. "what was that?"

"nothing."

let's just say, your boyfriend is worried about you, for many reasons. even if he doesn't show it like other significant others.

one, you live on the worst side of town, where all the sleezebags and criminals roam at night. this place was less than safe, in his mind although you don't see it.

secondly, he's caught those drunken bastards attempting to get into your apartment one night. he'd never told you as to not scare you, but thankfully he'd been there, even if they did stutter they mistook your apartment for theirs... he just wasn't buying it.

and lastly, of course, he was worried about your health. if you never got any sleep because of those idiots, then your health would surely decline and how could you perform daily tasks?

so, if you won't move in with him, nothing is also stopping him from dragging you out of your apartment, with an overnight bag in his other hand.

he's taking you to his place where you can get a good night's rest, away from those annoying idiots.

xiao

he knows you've been working hard lately, he sees it too. so, why can't your neighbors just leave you alone? y/n this, y/n that. they always have something to complain or ask about. favors they call it. hmph, yeah right.

he just wants you to rest for crying out loud!!

"give it a break." he always tells you.

he doesn't mind you helping them, of course not! he has the tendency to look after those who need help too, but this is entirely different.

your neighbors are constant, and at this point are taking advantage of your huge heart.

you see those kids always being passed off from aunt to cousin, to neighbor, to babysitter... while their parents leave, party, and get drunk.

you happily decided to become their babysitter, without pay, to save them seeing a new face every week. they deserved routine and a familiar face, not surprises or fear their babysitter wouldn't show.

xiao comes concludes that it's not acceptable. even if you're doing those kids a favor.

"you need a break." xiao demands. but you don't seem to listen, not when it comes to this. breaks are an illness to you, it seems. especially when those sweet children are involved.

so, since you won't dare leave those kids with another babysitter, xiao takes one of your days off and decides to pamper you.

he'll get you all the sweets he knows you love, and he's taking you out for a nice dinner; you're not leaving the restaurant until you finish your entire plate, he's going to make sure of that.

xiao will run the nicest bath for you and will leave you to the serenity unless you ask him to join you. if not, he's going to find some show, and you two will binge it. he makes sure to find one he knows you'll fall asleep too :) lol

and he'll even babysit the kids while you sleep in the next morning. they know of him, xiao has been in their presence a handful of times, so they're familiar with him.

"y/n is having a day off today. so i will watch you. do kids still like playing outside?" he'd ask as he gestures around the small living room, where a tablet, tv, and computer were among the many electronics.

xiao can't lie. he isn't particularly fond of children... but guess what, he does it for you. only for you.

so you can rest, and catch a break for once.

he's also having a word with those so-called parents...
