Travelling on the bullet train from Tokyo to Edo was such a lovely countryside tour. I regret not being able to spend more time outside the city
Honestly I'm having a shit week so to make myself feel better I'm trying to fill up the last few pages of this sketchbook. Its basically volume training.
Couple of japan landscapes that I honestly dont know if I even like. Whateverrrrrrrr.
Kegon Falls in Nikko and the lotus plants at Uneo Zoo in Tokyo
I needed new coasters so I decided to paint some. They're inspired by the 4 suites in a deck of cards and I hope with a thick layer of mod podge they wont get too beat up when I set my coffee on them

Been sick so I got behind on this painting challenge but im caught back up. Unfortunately catching up produced a couple of real duds that I wont be posting but I quite like this one
One of my art goals this year is to do more consistent practice and get better at working on exercises like value studies and perspective work as well as capturing likeness. So far I'm doing pretty well but I'm not exactly getting many finished or even post worthy pieces out of it which is fine because the goal is skill development.
Anyway here's a kitty value study done in permanent rose and dioxazine purple because why be boring when you can be pink.
One of my favorites to paint so far. Scene is a portion of tokyo bay near the rainbow bridge.
