A little annoyed sound leaves the wolf-kissed lips, arms crossed over their chest as they looked up at him. ❝... You didn't answer my question, Raphael. But if you must know... I might have missed you a little bit.❞

Raena had her suspicions about it potentially being Raphael's doing when she first set eyes on the gift on her bed. It seemed to fit with his dramatic style. Heart raced as she approached and carefully set the rose aside so she could open the gift, her cheeks quickly turning a shade of red upon unveiling satin and lace. Next was the necklace that once she unveiled that, well... She felt her breath catch in her throat, staring bewildered at such a magnificent gift. At least the necklace was small enough, not too heavy, that she could get away with wearing it every day. Oh, it was cute... She really liked the necklace. Though, there was absolutely no mistaking the intention behind such a gift, even before she picked up his note, smiling shyly upon reading his term of endearment for her.

Sweetheart.

"More? Oh gods..." Raena mumbled. Exhaling, she knew she had to go if only to see what Raphael had planned. She would put on the white satin and lace dress as well as the necklace before making her way to the house of hope, where none of his gift could have prepared her for the remainder of her gift.

A strong arm wound around her waist from behind, pulling her back swiftly and suddenly. Stumbling over her own feet, Raphael was the one to guide her easily onto his lap, both arms soon winding around her to keep her there, with her back to his warm chest. Her head tipped back slightly to allow her to see his face, to smile softly, in the wake of an unexpected turn. It did not seem to matter which form he took, he still was much larger than the elf and though she did not want to admit it out loud, she loved that. She shifted carefully on his lap to get comfortable, hands soon resting upon his forearms, her feet no longer touching the floor now she was perched upon his lap.

She knew he was strong-- after all, Raphael had picked her up once before. And yet she still squeaked in surprise as he lifted her up effortlessly, an arm under her knees, the other around her waist. But she did not struggle, as she would if others picked her up. No, with Raphael, she had instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck, drawing herself even closer to the devil, his warmth radiating against her.
