im just so sick to my stomach, I put sm faith in them and then they just.... You can call me 'dramatic' but it's just how I feel. I literally started sobbing when I saw what they did.
I've grown up with this show, I've been watching it since I was 10. I've been here for 7 years.
The coming out scene was so bad that i felt like I was watching a dhar mann episode. This was just not the scene i anticipated for years. I felt like they handled the Robin situation with so much care but they mucked this up so bad. It was forced because will was scared his abuser will out him. He didn't even get to come out on his own terms. And why were so many random people even there. Coming out is supposed to be private and safe and special. It's just supposed to be done with the people you trust the most, not with some people you just met. You can just see that some straight person wrote it like it was just a thing to tick on their checklist and not one of the most important scenes in a supposed 'coming of age' story.
it's just that i thought we could have you know this one thing and it will be different for us, just this one. But i clearly put too much faith in them. I feel stupid and I feel guilty for even hoping to have been happy for once.
Isn't it natural for the main character to have a happy ending?, it's so common that the hero 'saves the day' and 'gets the girl, marries the girl' and lives 'happily ever after'.
Why do queer stories always end with the character just accepting themselves and not finding love? Why did his love just get reduced to a crush. WHY were one sided queer feelings made fun of by the cast?. Why are we always the joke and why am I stupid for hoping that just this once I will be seen properly.
Did you see their speeches? The duffers said that their crushed were unrequited and that why will's are too because it's 'realistic'. Why does one of the only queer character's in the show have to have it be realistic? Why can't you send this message with some straight character instead? Why do we always have to just accept it and be grateful that they showed even a little representation?
Like even if they make it canon in the finale for the 'big plot twist' it just doesn't feel right to string us along till the last just so you don't lose your straight and bigoted audience. or finally give us a happy ending but make it a 'plot twist'. Why does my happy ending have to be YOUR plot twist?
It would just be so rushed and maybe even badly executed, like it's just a side plot. Maybe it will be good but how much can they pull off in 2 hours when so much plot is left. I believe in the actors ability to act out a rushed ending and make it good but why does it even have to be rushed. Isn't this a 'coming of age' story.
I just don't have much hope left. i clearly put too much faith in shawn levy and the duffers. I don't feel like they can make this hurt less.
