#rant sort of

Not to get all emotional, but.

-washing the dishes (even though my brother was supposed to do it)

-fold my brothers' laundry

-not allowed to listen to music

-not allowed to watch newsies (or anything else but newsies is what I want to watch nothing else)

-phone is taken away

-computer is not taken away but I'm not supposed to be on it (my dad's gonna be gone for a few minutes which is how I'm posting this)

-no I may not take any more ibuprofen since I already took some at like 8:30 this morning

-getting yelled at every five seconds for not doing the dishes yet

-keep getting offered food even after saying that I don't want to think about eating (like typing this rn makes me nauseous)

-no books

-"i don't care that you're freezing its warm outside take your sweatshirt off"

Let me explain.

So, he starts by alienating his brother because he wants his brother to be free from the chaos and trauma of their family mess. Which is a valid point but then he makes it so Sherlock is literally uncomfortable being near him and talking to him about things in general. It also means that Sherlock is absolute shit at communicating with other people as he needs to.

Then, of course we have Mycroft’s “deal” with Moriarty about letting him go even though he knows full well that it puts Sherlock in danger. But no, he has a “plan” which totally works as intended (it really doesn’t. Like not at all).

Next up we have him not talking to Sherlock or anyone. This is kind of connected to my first point but Mycroft also distanced himself from literally everything and everyone. He saw it as a “defense mechanism” but it was made worse by him encouraging Sherlock to do it also. This was a BIG problem. While yes, having a small group of friends worked in the case of Reichenbach, where having a small group of friends meant that fewer people would die, it also meant that it would be “normal” for him not to show himself connected at all to his brother. In what way does that help anyone? Not to mention that Mycroft was literally responsible for this happening in the first place.

Now we get into the realm of everything from The Final Problem. Where to even begin. First off, Redbeard. What the hell was this!? No actually, what the hell happened here. He actively ENCOURAGED Sherlock to not only forget but entirely rewrite memories of his literal childhood best friend. It also opened up Sherlock and Mycroft and a ton of other innocent people up for a fun little ✨surprise✨ from their sister. Who he ALSO encouraged Sherlock to entirely forget and rewrite. He had this idea that this would somehow fix everything and it really really didn’t.

Alright, back to The Final Problem. He set Eurus up on an island with clearly some of the worst security on the planet and gave her access to really really dangerous people for fun!? Like how exactly does this help. Eurus was able to get up and LEAVE the place whenever she wanted. And Mycroft was 100% clueless. He thought everything was all well and good.

HE LIED TO THEIR PARENTS ABOUT HIS SISTER AND THEIR CHILD. Mycroft thought that this was like the perfect magic solution because why? Because apparently it was better to think their daughter dead than to know that she was alive? They wouldn’t ask as many questions? Mycroft, literally where is the logic here!? This is just pure stupidity.

I mean, she literally mutilated her own kid. That’s not something a good parent does. It’s obviously freaking traumatizing and even qualifies as abuse, which is completely horrible parenting even by deity standards.

Not to mention that after all of that, poor Ethan still stood up for her, defended her, fought for her.

Like, if you don’t think that’s bad parenting- 

Person #2: Art should be about visible craft and talent, a canvas painted one color isn’t real art.

Person #3: Art should be about challenging society, illustration, fanart and commercial art aren’t real art.

Person #4: Art should be about the work of trained professionals, street art and outsider art aren’t real art.

Person #5: Art means paintings, sculpture, etc. Video games and cartoons aren’t real art, they’re frivolous trash.

Person #6: Art means paintings, sculpture, etc. Installation art, conceptual art and performance art aren’t real art, they’re pretentious nonsense.

Me:

the best part was steven getting corrupted

and larimar being carried by a plant steven-

I kinda wanted peridot to fuse with lapis to help hold steven in the ocean

I’m starting to think that spinel being nonchalant about steven having a breakdown wasn’t because she was high, but because of lazy writing

ever since the movie, spinel has been as much of a background character as a background character can get

and when spinel did get screen time, it was just her going along with everyone else, like she didn’t even have a different personality

I know the show is supposed to revolve around steven, but it feels like everyone else was just brushed to the side until they got screen time

if you’d have just cut the movie and spinel out of the series all together, it wouldn’t be much different

spinel is one of my favourite characters, and it’s kinda disappointing to see her watered down to nothing but comic relief

and when any of the characters showed the slightest bit of independent thought, they’re just pulled back into crying about how “all of this is their fault”

and the gems uncorrupting steven was really cliche

when steven was trying to hide his emotions, I really wanted at least one character to snap at him, telling him to stop

also, the build-up to steven’s corruption

hhhhhh

no spikes grew on his body or anything

just pink

and then BOOM he’s corrupted

and then the 2nd main character, which also feels like a background character, expresses a revelation to the rest of the characters, and somehow everyone immediately knows exactly what to do to fix the main character

when the show got more serious, it would’ve fitted if they used a more harsh color palette, similar to the visuals in jasper’s debut, rather than to just darken everything

People are so pissed that some folks don't fit into their binary squares. Let people live as they're happy. No body is 'erasing your sex', you just don't wanna make room for people who don't fit in your small minded boxes. I've started reporting posts I've seen. Cause it's fucking ridiculous. It's 2020. It's time to grow up and embrace diversity.
