Sometimes out of the blue I'll get a comment or a kudo on this one work and every time I open the email I'm like:

Oh yeah. Right. I forgot I recorded a nine (9) hour podfic of a Merthur modern football (soccer) AU and it's one (1) hour sequel in the spring of 2023.

I literally made it for the explicit purpose of people to enjoy a fic when they maybe have time to listen but not to sit down and read.

To this day my all time favorite fic was introduced to me AS a podfic.

Is it the most cringe thing I've ever done? Maybe, but it also brings me a lot of joy that people still listen to it and enjoy the story as much as I did.

Anyway.

Why in God's heaven are there so many bikes in Good Omens. Seriously.

Adam Young rides a bike, all of his friends ride bikes, Anathema rides a bike. Do the Four horsemen of the Apocalypse ride horses? Nooo. They rides bikes. (well, motor bikes but still). Madame Tracy has a scooter.

And even Crowley's blasting out Queen's "Bicycle Race"

Scottish historians who are otherwise discerning and very thorough have really got to stop referring to Moray and Aberdeenshire as ‘the far north of Scotland’. It may seem like a little thing but at this point I really think it’s skewed the way they understand the lie of the land, communication, economics, culture, and the balance of power in both mediaeval and modern Scotland.

#I once took a five-six hour train from Aberdeen to Tain which is only in Easter Ross #Moray is not 'the far north' and even by mediaeval standards I would argue not particularly remote compared to say #the very middle of the Highlands or deepest Galloway; and DEFINITELY not compared to Sutherland #(Caithness and the Outer Hebrides were at least keyed into the western sea-routes even if they seemed remote to the east coast Scots)#But Moray's on the east coast; it's not even stuck out on a corner somewhere like Buchan #And even when the centre of power was in old Scotia between Forth and Tay and kings had less power #That just meant Moray was even closer than in later years when the centre of power gravitated to Lothian #ANYWAY it's maybe an arguable point as to how far it could be considered 'remote' but whatever it was #it does NOT count as the 'Far North'- I'm sorry that title is only applicable to Orkney Shetland Caithness Sutherland and *maybe* Ross #Maybe Lewis if you look at the map a bit funny #If the University of Aberdeen taught me nothing else it is that we folks down in the Central Belt have no fucking concept of north #West maybe but not north #(Obviously I don't speak for everyone but yeah just feel a bit like there's a real lack of knowledge about how big the country is)#if you've only lived in the triangle between Glasgow Edinburgh and Perth and occasionally holidayed on Arran or Skye)#(Big as in 'bigger than thought' obviously not big in the eyes of like Canadians)#Rant finished #Thoughts on the Thistle

I’ve been seeing a lot of discourse on here about Caleb’s reaction and how he was trying to make it about himself, but I haven’t seen it that way at all. Everyone has reactions to events from their own perspectives. Nott was freaking out because her friend(???) had been kidnapped. Caleb was freaking out because Nott, the one person in his life that he has for unconditional support, just turned on him and grouped him with the people he despises. His whole world is crashing down and in a single moment, everything he thought he could depend on is toppling and threatening to crumble. With this, the rest of the group is probably going to find out his involvement and what he’s done, Nott, the one person that he said he truly loves and would do anything for, is angry at him, and his past is catching up with him in a way that it is influencing her. How could this not cause an all out panic attack? Honestly, I’m surprised he didn’t go full catatonic and unresponsive for another 10 years.

Now that our 24/25 campaign is over, i can conclude that this season we got really lucky.

Before the season started, i wanted the team to get to a cup final and get champions league placing. And they did both. As much as i wanna say we did well this season, i don't think we did. I think we were slightly better than last season but we were not great. We were kinda like a mid chelsea, keep scamming wins but obviously we don't have squad depth and a decent manager, so we couldn't do it against the big teams. I think we had like 5 games where we actually played well. There were so many games where it looked like the only good moments were the goals we scored, like the leicester game where we were lucky they were not clinical because we were so exposed. It was obvious as well we had the tendency to sit back after we score one or two goals, which i don't think how ambitious squads should act.

We were also pretty lucky with the cup draws until the semis. You cannot deny we had one of the easiest paths. Defeating citeh at their home ground twice is pretty impressive tho, i'll give them credit for that. Even though again, we were lucky their key players were injured and thus, us getting third pretty easily.

I'm complaining a lot, aren't i? It's just that i know the team can do so much better than what they displayed the whole season. We had good upgrades in the summer but little improvement shown. And i'm gonna blame it 99% on dumbfuck, but winning mentality should be within the players.

Anyway what's done is done. I hope we get rid of dumbfuck this summer (wishful thinking), hope the girls have fun and stay uninjured in the new sevens tourney and we have a great summer window.
