Liked is Puff, Praised Gryff primary/secondary Claw and Slyth; envied Slyth; imitated Claw; feared Slyth; however, imitated and feared are very, very rarely chosen.

Slytherin's ideal option. Not entirely sure if this tosses points at anyone else (Ravenclaw would be the obvious - but Ravenclaw gets the most points from Book>Cure>Records and then Cure>Book>Records.) This is an uncommon ranking, as cure-last tends not to be selected all that often.

Rather be... Trusted>Praised>Liked>Envied>Imitated>Feared

Cue my rant on how trusted is Puff/Gryff but that, when 50% of Ravenclaws also pick it (and it's Slytherin's #2 answer), this question becomes virtually meaningless. (In fact, at the moment, more 'Claws are picking it than Puffs or Gryffs, although it's close enough - 47% vs. 50% - that it's statistically meaningless.) Praised throws points to Gryff, Slyth, and Claw; I think it's Claw's #2 and Slyth's #3, though a larger percentage of Slyths actually choose it than Claws. (It's definitely Gryff's #1.) Liked is Hufflepuff; envied Slytherin; imitated Claw/Puff; feared Slytherin. However, people rarely pick feared (and to some extent rarely choose imitated; envied isn't seen all that much outside of Slytherin.)

So I'd say the Ravenclaw Sorting is very accurate, although of course there are going to be Sortings where you wouldn't get that (I'd call Slytherin your #2 House, Hufflepuff #3, Gryffindor last.) It would be very hard for you to get a Gryffindor Sorting (boredom/centaurs/forest/black with some Hufflepuff answers might do it, but it would be realllly hard - I wouldn't expect you to actually get Gryffindor without a very unlucky question draw. plum potion/trusted/no one knows you/dusk/heads could certainly do Hufflepuff, and a bunch of Sortings could do Slytherin, but overall you're still going to get Ravenclaw the majority of the time.)

Cure, records, book > Cure, book, records > Records, cure, book > Records, book, cure > Book, cure, records > Book, records, cure (if you can't tell, the cure is the most important to me :) I put low priority on the book because it says it's "believed" to be Merlin's... so you don't know for sure. I'd hate to save a book over a thousand years' worth of records, only for it to turn out to be a fraud.)

Cure-first is the hallmark of Gryffindor, but the first answer you give is the most-Hufflepuff. So you start with Hufflepuff (Gryff secondary), then go to Gryff (Claw secondary), then to Puff, then to Slyth (cure-last), then to Claw. Claws and Slyths prize the book much more than you.

Trusted > Praised > Liked > Envied > Imitated > Feared

Hufflepuff/Gryffindor primary, then Gryff/Claw (Slyth tertiary possible); then Puff/Gryff; then Slyth; then Claw; then Slyth. Very common ranking - "trusted" is usually ranked so highly by people and put as a 1st choice often enough to make this the single most unfair question in the quiz. (If everyone picks a given answer, the question isn't fair - and this is doubly unfair because, unlike "piano," question 3 counts for quite a lot.) Imitated and feared, the Claw and Slyth answers, are typically at the bottom. 

Your answers here are about what mine would be (I waver in placement of praised and liked - sometimes this, sometimes swapped - and I have 'imitated' ranked over 'envied.')

This one’s interesting to me because if the question were “Which would you least like to be?” the answer would be ignorant.  But it’s what I’d least like to be called.  I wouldn’t want to be ignorant, but I know I’m not so it’s easy to shrug off being called that.  Whereas I may actually be ordinary so I’d be more bothered by being called that.

That is neat! And it completely throws off the usual rankings a bit: Puff>Slyth>Gryff>Claw.

And basically, that is the most Gryffindor reasoning possible. You have the Gryff-standard (Claw secondary) answer first, the Puff-standard (Gryff secondary) answer second, and the Claw-standard (Slyth secondary) answer third. Records>Book>Cure gives some Slytherin points but is overall the least-favorite of the vast, vast majority of people who do rank or anti-Sorts.

Praised > Envied > Imitated > Trusted > Liked > Feared.

Gryff (Claw secondary, probable Slyth tertiary) > Slyth > Claw (Puff secondary?) > Puff (Gryff) > Puff (Gryff) > Slyth. Again, feared is a standard last-place answer - what's unusual is ranking imitated so high and trusted relatively low.

It's Hufflepuff, although the reasoning isn't group-oriented or nonconfrontational, which is where the Hufflepuff weight comes into play.

Your answer is slightly unusual in putting "seek source" last instead of "Stand ground." I do think most people are picking "proceed with caution," although "withdraw" also has a strong following.

You are all over the place. This is hard to call - you tend to have a lot of Gryff/Claw answers at the very top, but then also have the questions where they get thrown to the bottom (the tree, Transfiguration, The Wise, boredom, read minds.) I'd say overall you put more 'Claw answers as last than Gryff, but that has to be counterbalanced with things like Gryffindor naturally not having a lot of last-place answers. The Sorting looks more Gryffinclaw than Slytherpuff, certainly, and I'd place Slytherin as your last-place House even considering its number of "bad answers" - you rarely put Slyth answers first anyway, even when they're at least somewhat appealing.

I think the last two are by far the worst options, because they put emphasis on what’s expressed outwardly. You can’t be sure whether the praises you get are genuine. I’m pretty self-aware, so I tend to know if I deserve the compliments or not, but it’s exactly because of that that I don’t really want them, unless they come from people whose judgment/honesty I trust. It gets uncomfortable when they give me the impression they have further motives/just want to be polite. I can deal with it fine, I’d just rather not have to bother.

Imitated is bad since I highly value individuality. While it can imply a certain level of respect/admiration, it’d get tiring of it very quickly.

I want to be envied since it can be both a compliment (better than beingpraised) and a challenge at the same time. It means people want to be me/have the things I have but would rather I didn’t have them, which can feel nice while also keep me on my toes. Being trusted is the most beneficial, but on the other hand it’s very taxing to get and keep. I’d still put it in the top two.

I’m indifferent about being feared or liked. I find envied and trusted better alternatives.

This is genuinely interesting, since praised is probably #2 in popularity - and the reasoning is really intriguing since it's the most unique I've seen for this question.

To me, all of these are things that end up getting expressed outwardly (well, envied can be hidden fairly well, but if you trust someone, it'll show in your actions towards them; if someone likes you, it generally shows.) But being praised or imitated is pretty much ENTIRELY an outward display, so I get what you mean.

To me, I associate envy with negativity on other people's part (seven deadly sins and all that) - it comes with that downside you mention that praised lacks. Some people are clearly willing to bear that negativity when they see it as more rewarding; envied is also one of the most popular options for this quiz (not nearly to the level of trusted, but I think it's going to beat 'liked.') It's also a wholly Slytherin thing.

Your reasoning on imitated matches most peoples' reasoning - and is probably the #1 reason why this makes such a poor answer for Ravenclaw, the House that prizes individuality above all things. (Whyyyyy this is apparently Ravenclaw's #1 answer, I'll never know. It is one of the answers where I really have problems with the assigned weighting. Most of them I can accept or explain, even if I don't wholly agree - not this one. NO.)

As mentioned in my anti-sort, none of the options bothers me that much, so my ranking is more “What do you like the least?”. I’m not exactly a thrill seeker, but I need something to occupy my mind/interest me, otherwise I get uneasy. I don’t mind ‘being ignored’ in the sense of ‘leave me alone’, but if they ignore me because I’m not worth noticing, then my fragile ego gets hurt ;) (I considered leaving this out for fear of appearing un-Slytherin, but to hell with it!). I almost never get hungry or cold. The same goes for loneliness, except on the rare occasions I do it breaks me.

Definite Slytherin tendencies on the top, Hufflepuff at the bottom. Gryffindor serves as endcaps. (Boredom = Slyth/Gryff, Being Ignored = Slytherclaw, Hunger = Huffleclaw, Cold = Slytherpuff, and Loneliness = Huffledor, at least right now.) The reasoning on being ignored, I think, is actually very Slytherin - wanting and needing to be noticed. You can hardly be powerful or famous or great if anyone refuses to take note of you, now can you? (I have a slightly harder time rationalizing this as a Ravenclaw answer, except for looking at this as a Slytherclaw "Being Ignored" vs. Huffledor "Loneliness" dichotomy - Ravenclaws don't like people to ignore them when they want to be heard, because they want to share their ideas. My original choice was hexes and jinxes, since I was under the impression they can also be used for the same purpose as charm, which would be my pick were it an option. Seeing it isn’t the case, I’ll go with transfiguration. Changing appearances (whether of myself or other things) appeals to my sense of aesthetics. It also comes in handy in many situations, while saving me the need to go violent. I’m torn on that “Learn everything!” option. I think the main reason for its popularity is that we’re coming from a fans’ perspective. In real life, though, how many of us actually want to learn everything in school? It’d get tedious very soon once the novelty of “Yay! Magic!” wore off.

Cute animals can get me all fuzzy, but since none of the magical creatures even comes close to ‘comparatively non-threatening’, let alone ‘cute’, I’ll pass. It still beats broom flying, though, for the reasons already stated in my anti-sort. Hexes/jinxes and A/D sound painful but I’ll bear with them since they are practical. Secrets are cool enough.

Transfiguration and Everything both have Ravenclaw overtones - Transfig being Gryff/Claw (possibly Puff as well?) and Everything being Ravenclaw with a dash of Slytherin. (I do think that there are people who would genuinely want to learn everything - we are the odd people who double-major in completely different subjects and take electives over the summer for neither major, who have really eclectic bookshelves and overextend ourselves with 18-credit-hour semesters when our classes don't involve magic. Tell me I can do a ton of learning with magic and I'm going to be like "LEARN ALL THE THINGS!!!"

I also think that the lack of some of the more obviously-weighted classes - Potions, DADA - made for more people choosing "Learn everything." Because I genuinely think DADA might've been the most popular answer if it was on here; hexes and jinxes focuses more on the negative side of that.) 

I'd say that unicorns, knarls (well, if you don't offer them food/milk), Kneazles, and the like could be cute for ComC - but the problem is that you have Hagrid teaching it, so Blast-Ended Skrewts end up on the syllabus instead. (No, Professor Kettleburn wouldn't have been any better.)

The Ravenclaw answers land near the top for you, followed by a mix of Gryff and Slyth; the Hufflepuff ones are definitely at the bottom.

How can anyone pick invisibility when you have the option of changing appearances? You can change into your surroundings if you don’t want to be seen. I find it hard to deal with people I can’t reason with, which is the why I dislike animals. However being able to talk to them and understand what they feel/think (or whether they do it at all) is kind of cool.

I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH YOU ON CHANGE APPEARANCE (and also that the first three are significantly more tempting than the last three.) I have never found invisibility tempting but would totally leap at the chance to have Metamorphmagus abilities. I think you may be stretching the bounds of the question here - I think it's supposed to be more "pure Metamorphmagi" and less "Metamorphmagi + Disillusionment Charm/chamelon effect." The question is open enough to interpret either way, though. 

I read your reasoning on the Flitwick question, and I have to say it amazes me how we can use such different reasons for the same choice! I submitted this before, and still stand by my case that it’s perfectly in-character for a Slytherin to tell the truth to win points. You’re (understandably) bothered by cheating, I’m not (unless it harms non-involved people, which isn’t the case here). Hey, I’d actually feel a certain admiration for the person who manages to come first through cheating. Too bad I am the one getting screwed over ;)

I'm thinking that the answers might actually end up having the Hufflepuff lie and say they don't know, even though I feel that runs completely contrary to Hufflepuff House (it's the House of fair play and they're the only House that opts to lie?! House of Hypocrisy, per this quiz - telling prior to the test or when asked would both be nonconfrontational, per Hufflepuff standards, but the whole spiel about 'making up the points' is pure Ravenclaw - that amount of text/elaboration was clearly pushing the "tell afterwards" option towards 'Claw.) You could easily slant an answer to "Tell Flitwick when asked, and apologize for not coming forward earlier" or "Don't tell Flitwick when asked, for fear he'll ask you why you didn't come forward sooner" and have it be a completely different House. The "tell when asked" reasoning is pure Ravenclaw - I'm wondering if that "but hope someone else tells" is actually trying to give away that it's Hufflepuff. Still feels absolutely wrong to me (but I have another message in my inbox that makes a persuasive case for Slytherin's real answer being "Tell Flitwick before the test.")

Slytherclaw in first; Slytherclaw in last. Fascinating. This is one question where your rank orders really don't go with the weightings - you go from Slytherclaw to Gryffinclaw to Hufflepuff x2 to Slytherdor to Slytherclaw. If you take the first two as a pair, the Ravenclaw is what stands out.

This is interesting - you tend to really love or hate the Slytherin answers, and you put a lot of popular Slyth answers at the bottom (merpeople, read minds, sea.) You also have some Hufflepuff answers placed last (see: how you ranked the "being ignored/boredom/hunger/cold/loneliness" question - but then again, many of them are your second-place answers early on.) There are some really fascinating/uncommon individual rankings, but this also tends to reinforce the "Slytherin and Hufflepuff really did get stuck with some undesirable answers" trend.
