Three Weeks
Random blog post title right? Three weeks to what, you might ask. Three weeks until I finish my last day at my job, three weeks until my last run with my running club and three weeks plus one day until I get on a plane and fly home to Toronto. After four years in London, the time has come for me to return home. Two weeks ago, I resigned from my job and started the process of telling my friends, running clubmates and colleagues. Most people have been shocked that we will not have more time together but Iโm not one for big, messy goodbyes. Iโd rather we just all keep doing normal stuff and making the most of the time that we do have left together. In the next three weeks I will: - Ship my life back to Toronto (stuff is now sorted and will be boxed up this weekend) - Run four more Tuesday night runs and one more Sunday run with London City Runners - Attend three more wonderful yoga classes in Triyogaโs light-filled studio - Celebrate turning 32 with a birthday 5 mile race through London 2012โs Olympic park - Enjoy dinners and drinks with friends - Shower a very special baby girl-to-be with love and high tea - Run a half marathon - Run +70 miles to rebuild my pre-marathon training base There is a lot on that list and thankfully, Iโve put together a handy spreadsheet to help get it all done. The weather has turned spectacular in London, sunny and 26-28 degrees every day since the end of last week. I am trying to soak up every drop of it I can, doing what I love most in this city: running, eating, talking about running, racing and spending time with friends who share those passions. A little patience then over this next three weeks, while I do my best to document a crazy-busy-wonderful goodbye to an amazing city and a transformative period in my professional and personal life.
