I was half asleep last night but learned that tux cats have two genes involved and are technically piebald and all-black dogs with a white patch on the chest or paws are embryonic melanin producing cells not all migrating to the bottom of the embryo. Black dogs with a white patch are still considered black because it’s not genetic but white dogs with a black patch like Lily are definitely piebald because it’s genetics not embryonic development. so uh yeah.
My first owned dog was a mix groenendael belgian shepard dog - he was knee high but kept the larger dog ear size, he looked like a bat at times. He had the big patch on his chest like a tux and I was repeatedly told that black dogs are bad luck by catholics and muslims alike which just gets stupider the more you think about it. He was a fantastic dog and I loved him to bits the way some girls love their horse, he was my work dog in guarding the ragtag collection of small kids I watched over after school and on weekends.
Eldest daughter syndrome and helpful church kid sydrome meant I got paid for all that childminding and babysitting all of once when I was 17 and the third time the lady left her toddler with me it was supposed to be for an evening which turned into 3 whole days because god only knows and I refused to babysit for her after that because if you want childcare, you get certified childcare in a childproof home not some teenager sleeping on your flea-ridden couch.
