Remove the fluff

Don’t over explain

Trust the reader more, so don’t explain something again a sentence or paragraph later.

At the time, and sometimes now, I wonder if it was a little picky. But then, I find myself trying to make sure I’ve done just that. And to be fair, maybe I’ve missed points where I do - I’m trying to get used to drafts are drafts, they don’t need to be perfect.

But when I read my writing back and I found I have solved one of these, I feel a little thrill that I caught it almost as if the teacher is nodding their approval.

But.

A lot of the stuff in that metric is more of a gut feeling thing than an actual quantifiable measurement, and I have a very spesific sort of way of interpreting what other people say and do that I'm not sure if typing it out would help anyone.

Okay so

We pretty much have complete confirmation by now that Satsuki not only doesn't want to get rid of Ryuko, she doesn't want to keep her alive just because of her kamui. If that was the only thing I don't think Satsuki would really have any qualms about killing Ryuko if her intention was to eliminate her as a threat? Clearly she has some other reason, right?

Putting my angry gays bias aside  I actually think there has to be a personal component of some kind to Satsuki's actions. Like SHE PUT A FUCKING BLANKET OVER RYUKO. (And presumably left a scrap of Senketsu for her?) What she did doesn't really come off as "I need to keep this instigator alive for nefarious purposes", more like "I have plans that this person is interfering with but I don't want her dead what do I do".
