The people on tiktok care a whole lot about being noticed by the cast while everyone in tumble is just here to chill and have a good time
(Sorry this response is long lol I have a lot of thoughts on this)
Exactly, I feel like it's not about making fun content anymore a lot of the time, people are just trying to get the casts attention and they end up being really rude and judgmental to anyone that would bring any of what they think is "negative attention" to the fandom.
Recently Thomas Gibson said that he thinks Jemily is a great idea (and correct me if I'm wrong but Paget Brewster has said she supports it too), so I don't think the cast of CM (or atleast most of them) are going to be offended by moried/jemily/ralves etc. But anything that's not canon I feel like people on tiktok freak out about bc they think it's going to bring a "bad image" to the fan base.
And with Hannibal, Mads has joked about reading fanfiction, and he and Hugh have made it pretty clear theyre perfectly fine with people making fan content of their characters. And Bryan Fuller (ik he's said some bad things but he's still the writer) has been really encouraging in people using creative expression through fan content too.
So tbh I think people on tiktok just get so caught up in wanting the cast to see them, and being upset about the things they think the cast won't like, that they forget that its all fiction and fan content is supposed to be about self expression, and we are meant to be having fun.
And on Tumblr we all just really don't care lol we're just doing our best.
