I happened to look out my window to spot my ice covered rain chain. A rain chain is used as a pretty downspout. Pretty wild!

We have these beautiful rain chain downspouts around our home. However, I donβt think they can handle the heavy downpours we sometimes get.
This is what Iβve learned about rain chains:
Theyβre not as efficient as regular downspouts
They cannot direct water away from the house; they can only drop water straight down
They are best used as supplements to traditional downspouts
It seems to me that weβre going to have to get the gutters and spouts redone
