Grantaire who finally gets together with Enjolras but does not know how to respond to affection and/or thinks he is worthy of love so he just doubles down on being a shithead. He flirts with all of Les Amis so much more frequently and harder than he ever used to. He chants "kiss" whenever Enj is having a conversation with Ferre or anyone really. He avoids Enjolras as much as possible, and shrugs him off whenever he tries to be with him, all because he's scared he isn't good enough for this.

obviously literary criticism and analysis of KotLC is all good and well and necessary, but the argument that will never fail to annoy me is "x character is childish!" "y scene reads like it was written for preteens!"

... Yes???? It's. A. Children's. Book. Literally written for 8-12 year olds. Yes it has dark scenes and complex characters but at the end of the day Shannon is writing for her target audience, preteens. Middle grade. Obviously that doesn't mean it has to be badly written, but I feel like we should cut Shannon some slack, especially when we compare it to other middle grade series.

Since it's Valentine's Day, I wanted to post about the most meaningful relationship of my life.

Exactly one year ago, I saw Les Miserables for the first time in Amsterdam. It changed my life, to say the least. It gave me a favourite show, a dream role, the confidence to pursue my dream career, of course it also gave me my beautiful gay boys that I adore, and a lot of my lovely moots. Since last year, I've seen the show twice and am going to see it for a third time in March (I'm not addicted wdym), I've suffered through reading the brick, I've written 33 813 words of fanfiction about it, and made a lot of art. Basically it means the utter world to me, and I just love this show more than anything ever. I sometimes forget and it hits me out of nowhere how much I fucking adore this musical.

So yeah, it's the one year anniversary of me first seeing Les Miserables. Apologies to my boyfriend and/or any of my future partners, but les mis will always be my Valentine.

I like to think that the reason all of my writing feels so personal to me is because there's raw nature of plot behind it. I refuse to write anything down about what I want to happen next, even if I think it. Life is rarely ever so planned. Just because you have one foot in front of another doesn't mean you won't trip and fall. If you plan every thing you ever want to happen you won't really be living, because at some point what you want to happen will change.

Life comes with the breeze of nature, and you don't always have to walk against it.
