This morning, we embarked on the Princess Lagoon hike, which is supposed to bring you to a hidden emerald lagoon. Really, it was more of a climb. But, there were lots of ropes and holds which really helped.

Parts of the hike felt straight up prehistoric, as though you might encounter the last surviving dinosaur or something.

On the way, there was a lookout point with a great view of the peninsula.

The mythical hidden lagoon was real!! It was beautiful, surrounded by limestone on all sides. Thank you, travel bloggers.

Now we're back at the resort. Is it weird that I feel a deeper sense of foreboding here? The place is so idyllic that I must be in a disaster movie where the plot is just about to happen.

Last summer, James and I saw a terrible but fun Shyamalan film called Old. The premise is that some vacationing families get trapped on a beach that ages you a year for every 30 minutes you spend there. Railay looks a lot like that beach...

Or maybe we're in a Jumanji remake.

Railay was one of the best places in Thailand I have been to !! It is a small place on a peninsula, in Krabi province with unbelievable beaches and small restaurants / cafes. There are no cars because there are no roads and everything is within walking distance.
