Donāt Wait
Living life in the moment--Doing that better.
That is my main goal right now.
It is staying out of head about my future past.
Just bringing the best to the moment.
Living in my heart and soul. Letting go of control.
So many times in life I have sat out and watched on the sidelinesā¦
Due to an issue with social anxiety.
Anxiety that has paralyzed me at timesā¦or turning my head on my shoulders into a shower head instead.
So many social situations I truly dread.
I feel safest amongst my longtime friend crew.
But something I witnessed a couple months ago woke me up from my anxious stateā¦
Life sometimes cannot simply wait.
I was outside at a restaurant table stting with my pup, Bowie on a warm Labor Day evening.
My wife, Brooke, and mother-in-law, Roz, were inside the restaurant ordering.
I claimed a table outside where we could all sit.
I looked towards the restaurant and saw a late 20 something old man catch eyes with my pup.
He was dressed surprisingly warm and formal for such a sunny day.
He was all smiles and and as he got near, he asked if I āwould mind.ā
āWould mindā in this case meant that he was asking to play with my pup for a moment.
I granted that wish completely while affirming - āYes, of course, heās (Bowie) only love.ā
As the man took me up on this invitation and I let him have and hold Bowieā¦it looked more like he was reuniting with his long lost puppy from childhood whom had died and gone to doggy heaven ā¦not just a liāl petting and āgood boy.ā Bowie responded with kisses to him and went all in.
The manās smiled beamedā¦he was loaded with light it seemedā¦.and I felt like I was witnessing something special for which I couldnāt put my finger onā¦
But when the man put his hand on my shoulder to thank me for that momentā¦I felt a surge of energy penetrate my being.
It wasnāt normal. At all.
A moment later he was at another table as Brooke and Roz sauntered to our table post order.
I explained a bit what happened from the man who said Hi to Bowieā¦as he smiled and waved from another tableā¦I almost felt some shame.
I never asked for his nameā¦and a moment later he was goneā¦he never got an order of foodā¦just a special dudeā¦.
The man was truly living freelyā¦making the most of the moment and the amazing life force of energy that he was tapping into and giving me
Shall forever remain a part of meā¦and I hope now with you, the reader, too.
Messages I hear as I finish what I write:
Life Life Now.
Donāt Wait.
Donāt Wait
Donāt Wait.
Cheers

The 5 Regrets People Share Before They Die | How to Avoid Them | Elder Mode
What if those who've lived the longest had one final lesson to impart to us? Following conversations with more than 400 seniors in their last years of lifeāindividuals from all walks of life, faith, and backgroundāa chilling pattern of regret became evident. These are not the tidied-up recollections told around the dinner table, but the raw, honest realities spoken when no one was listening. From lost opportunities at love to living for others rather than themselves, these are not tales of confessionāthese are warnings.
I hold a deep appreciation for mentors, and you may be immediately wondering how this topic relates with technology. Reflect for a moment: if you have a mentor, are they aware of the profound impact theyāve had on you? What might be holding you back from expressing this gratitude while they are still with us? Mentors play an indispensable role in shaping our lives, yet it is disheartening to observe a common tendency: many only acknowledge someone as a mentor after their passing. Iāve often found this perplexing. Itās all too easy to hear claims of āthey were my mentorā once someone is gone, yet there was little evidence of that appreciation during their lifetime. I'd like to explore the vital roles mentors play in our lives and why we should express gratitude to them while theyāre still with us. Blending personal reflections with a faith-based perspective, this discussion highlights Jesus as an exemplary mentor and encourages listeners to use technology to connect with their mentors today. Tune in for an inspiring call to honor those who guide usābefore itās too late. Job 12:12 - "Is not wisdom found among the aged? Does not long life bring understanding?"
