Genevieve had been unable to sleep that night. She tended to have that problem whenever she was in a new place. Not that Tulach Island was new place, of course, but she had to get used to being back after so long on Isle D’Alessio. So after tossing and turning for almost an hour, she’d decided to head down to the warehouse. She figured she’d might as well work on inventory, since she wasn’t going to get much sleep tonight.
When she got to the warehouse, Genevieve was only slightly surprised to see her youngest child there. She knew Emerson worked nights there, and also knew her daughter had been struggling with sleeping since the ambush. She hoped Ford’s death had brought her some closure, but she wasn’t sure it had. Wrapping her arms around her daughter as a way of greeting, she said “How are you?” She knew it was a loaded question, but hoped Emerson would give her an honest answer.
