a hand is placed against his shoulder and comes back bloody. he'd been knicked by a bullet and honestly, it could be worse. he could have been hit - digging a bullet out was hard going and painful. of course, he and sam were well versed in field surgery after all these years of hunting.

It was only a few hours before they were to go and pick up Ethan from his latest stay at the hospital, and Ella had decided to bake him his favourite cherry cake - the only issue being that she couldn't actually bake to save her own life. She'd burnt at least three attempts, before turning to Annaleigh, explaining how it was their birthday and she just wanted to do something nice for her brother - as well as the disaster that her kitchen was now in. And that's why she was now standing in the single mothers kitchen, taste testing the cake before them that tasted simply divine. It wasn't a burnt mess!

Ah - it was going to start getting dark soon, the man hiding a yawn behind his hand as he made his way through the small park, lazily watching as people hurried on their way home. The cold air was beginning to become rather harsh now - even he was beginning to think about finding someplace warmer to sleep, though he still had a few hours of work left. Yawning, he noticed a somewhat suspicious figure in the distance who seemed to be tailing a young woman, a young mother? Was that a stroller she had? Surely no one would target someone with a young child...but no she was being followed.

Mai's never been one for teams or groups, so outside of a select few, she hasn't met most of the other duelists working with DOMA. Still, for some reason, the sight of a teenage girl among the ranks stirs something in her heart. She tries to ignore it, but figures there's no harm in at least introducing herself to a colleague.

He almost dropped the chopsticks he was holding, the noodles slowly sliding from them slowly as his amber gaze locked onto the woman that sat across from him. The question made sense, and it made his heart race almost as much as it had when she'd agreed to be his wife, but at the same time, there was the knawing fear that being connected anymore to either of them was only bringing trouble to their door. Which could be seen as foolish considering he was about to marry Annaleigh, but it was still there, still digging at the back of his thoughts. Slowly, he placed down the sticks, taking a few seconds to gather his thoughts, before he reached across the table and gently placed his hands over one of his future wife's. He wanted to show her that he was taking this seriously, that he wasn't making light of such an important question. Tommy was important to him by this point too.
