First I do not hate gay people and everyone has a right to love who ever they want but this. This really pisses me off. The reasons they think she is gay is because
1- does not like dressing girly
2- more interested in archery
3- does not want to get married.
.......so are you telling me because a woman does not want to get married that must mean she is gay? like...the fact that she does not want to "submit" to a man mean she is more interested in ladies? Is that what you're trying to tell me? The only kind of woman who can be brave and powerful and not be interested in romance is by default a lesbian? And again there is nothing wrong with strong female lesbian characters but people like this are telling me that it seems that lesbian female characters ARE the only ones who can be strong. As an animator I watch a lot of cartoons and a lot of the time I tend to hate the female characters because they are vain, boycrazy, dainty, annoying, ALWAYS always interested in falling in love. From Madoka Honmura was my favorite character because everything she did was not for the sake of the love of a boy but for her friend. Not everyone has fallen in love but everyone has friends and I could understand her and sympathize with her more because of that, since I've never been in love myself. The media is basically saying that a woman in love is the only kind there is and I hate that, it needs to stop, romance does not need to be in everything. They keep giving female characters the same damn traits and the moment one steps out with different ones they begin to question her. Now if she really IS gay then my bad. I was wrong, but the reasons for thinking she is gay are the wrong ones and the reason this makes me so mad. Someone needs to tell these people that hobby, clothes choice and interest in relationships is NOT linked to sexuality and on a side note I personally do not think she is gay. Why? Because this is Disney/Pixar they would never EVER have the balls to have a gay lead in anything.
