He's still believes that the KoF is inefficient, but now wants to do something to fix it. He comes back, boots Kaeya out of his spot, and gets to work.

Kaeya goes back to being his lieutenant but there's still a lot of animosity between them. Kaeya keeps his head down and they both remain professional despite it all

They climb the ranks with Diluc becoming the Master of the KoF instead of Jean and despite never becoming a Captain, Kaeya stays by his side the whole. Diluc's silent right hand man.

After Varka left (happy to do so because archons Diluc is terrifying-) and Diluc became the Acting Grandmaster, he really starts whipping the Knights into shape.

Training is improved, education is improved, it becomes standard for new knights to travel to Liyue in order to improve international relations and cultural exposure, and basic medical training is given to everyone.

Kaeya is still in the background, Diluc sort of turning Kaeya into 'his spy'. Instead of the outgoing captain that we know him as, Kaeya acts as Diluc's shadow.

The Lawrence clan

The most gold and precious material out of all the houses due to them being most in charge out of the noble houses.

Lots of gold, jewel tones, and visual noise. They used to be filthy rich and they made sure everyone knew it

I would say there house is very Baroque styled. Like just a maximalist masterpiece. However a pain to up keep and definitely the reason that the family is now poor.

The ragnvidrs

Lots of dark wood and brick. Browns, blacks, and reds everywhere. Lots of influence from gothic revival and Tudor architecture.

They have the least gilding of out every noble house due to them ranking lower than the other noble houses

Fun fact the images from the first image is from a former horse stable that was transformed into a classroom so I think this is truely ragbros approved housing

The gunnhildrs

I believe due to Seamus the house has a small bit of Fontaine influence. So if I had to pin point a spefic style I would say it’s Romanesque

I believe the house is a mix of whites, golds, and pastel blues.

The house has a minimalistic design for a noble house. The gunnhidlr only truely care about how functional the house is rather than its appearance

Diluc looked up, shocked to see Adelinde pause from where she was wrapping his bloody arm. Her fingers were digging sharply into his arm and where she held the unwrapped end of the bandages, eyes tired and yet filled with tears while her normally kept appearance seemed a mess.

He reached up to wipe away her tears only for his hand to be slapped away and for Adelinde to look away from him.

"Adelin-"

"When will you stop?"

Diluc sat back, unsure of how, or if, he should even answer.

"I lost Master Crepus because he wanted to be a hero."

Diluc froze, this was the first time Addie had ever brought up his father after his death, "A-"

"I lost your brother for a reason I still don't know"

Diluc promptly shut his mouth, Kaeya was another topic they had silently agreed to never discuss.

Adelinde turned to him, tears flowing freely and this time she did nothing to stop Diluc as he pulled her into his arms.

Do you mean in the sense of, he's more lenient on Kaeya but always has Diluc as his no.1 priority or am I reading this wrong?

I like to believe that Crepus always had high hopes for Diluc, mainly because he's so disappointed in himself. He always wanted to be that knight that everyone looked up to, to have a vision of his own.

Sure, he has a wine tycoon that he maintains, has the love and respect of the people in his community, but it never made him feel like enough. For him, an ideal child would be the one that can be a knight like Varka and a business man like him.

So all of his life he subtly pushed Diluc to being his perfect son. The fact that Diluc is practically his twin doesn't help, he wants Diluc to accomplish everything he'd ever wanted.

When he got Kaeya, it was different. He already had his prodigy and he didn't need another. When he got Kaeya, it was like he was one step closer to being this hero that he'd always wanted to be. He saved this poor boy from the harsh outdoors and became a better father to him than his biological one was.

For Kaeya, he wanted to be the perfect father. For Diluc, he wanted a better version of himself.
