After the incident, Kaeya has been slowly attempting to become more friendly with Diluc because he desperately wants to repair what little is left of their brothership; however, Diluc refuses with a cold demeanor everytime.

When he is drunk at the tavern, he slips up and calls Diluc "brother." He sometimes mumbles how he wishes things will go back to how it used it be. Diluc entertains him because Kaeya will forget it when he sobers up. Even if its just a few minutes, Diluc appreciates every little moment.

While Diluc dries off the washed dishes, he silently listens to Kaeya's drunk mumbling. And when he finally passes out, Diluc secretly places a blanket on him because he knows Kaeya gets sick easily (just like how it was when they were kids).

In general, any time Kaeya refers to Diluc as "brother," Diluc immediately corrects him with "sir" (just like in the Webtoon).

Despite Diluc's attitude, he also secretly wishes things will go back to how they used to be. He misses the days when Kaeya and him used to play in the river near the Winery.
