BUT... I recently read something that I just tried out and it seems to work great. If you soak dried beans for awhile, say 24 hours, and you pour off the water every 6 hours or so and replace it with fresh water, most of the Raffinose (the gas-causing complex sugar in beans we can't digest) is leached away into the poured-off water, so by the time you cook and eat the beans, it has very little left in it. I have had two big helping of beans today that I prepared that way, and even without taking any Beano, I remain gas free.
