It's been a long time since a majority of the population of the entire world has been so impatiently anticipating the end of a single individual.

When someone likes a bad idea, they will ignore the 99% that is wrong with it and focus on the 1% that isn't too bad. When someone hates a good idea, they will ignore the 99% that is right with it and focus on the 1% that is problematic.

Too many people rationalize the impossibility of helping everyone as an excuse to help no one.

Too many people would rather drive off a cliff, their family with them in the car, rather than admit they had made a wrong turn. Note: This might be an analogy and not really about cars.

Why don’t the rules feel the same for everyone? The average American gets 10 days of paid vacation a year. Congress gets over 140 days off. They give themselves a pension after one term. You work 40 years and still might not have enough to retire. They vote to freeze the minimum wage. Then vote to raise their own salaries. The people writing the rules never have to live by them. Whose interests do you think they're protecting?
