Grand Mother Silk as a villain is funny when u think about her for too long bc she's...kind of a failgirl in a higher being context. Elevate regular spiders to sapience so they can worship you? They rebel and collab with everyone else to keep you hostage. Create children that are entirely dependent on you for their existence? One of them's a fuck-up so you send them to live in the sewers forever AND THEN THE OTHER ONE ALSO REBELS AGAINST YOU. AND CUTS YOUR ARM OFF! it really puts tpk into perspective bc i dont imagine him being a good person necessarily, but he wasn't bad as monarchs go. like. yes he should've accepted that change is inevitable, but he also understood the social contract. He made public transport and didn't tell pilgrims they were little bitches for using it. He even let the ppl who didnt accept his rule maintain independence to a degree (and they were willing to ally with him in the face of greater danger). As far as his own atrocities go there was only the Dead Baby Pit. 100% the better pale being. Gamgam can get bent.
