Goretober Day 19: Missing a Body Part
War tends to change people
âReading some eh? The kids these days donât seem to do that much anymore...â
âYeah itâs the Battle of Broken Beak, by Arwayve, one of my motherâs favorite stories, she used to tell it to me and my brothers when we were kidsâ
âAh, she must have had good taste in authors... so youâre enjoying it?â
âNo, not really... My mom, she always portrayed it as being a miraculous day, something that changed history, making heroes out of soldiers who fought for us... this just sounds like... like-â
âYou should probably be heading off now, the sanctuary wonât be open for much longer...â
âW-wait, you look familiar, I think I know you from somewhere...â
âProbably, I get that a lot, having your name in the history books will do that to you...â
â... Youâre Arwayve? The Arwayve? The General of the Light squadron, the leading force in the Battle of the Broken Beak..?â
âB-But you look- you look nothing like...like...â
âWell what do you expect? That battle was nearly 5000 years ago, did you really think my real body would last that long? No. Iâm just a tired old machine...â
Never meet your heroes, youâll be disappointed
