Back for #igquiltfest2020day2 with a handy #Quitling tipbfor sewing 1/4 seams! A lot of machines, including this @janomeamerica 2030 QDC use center needle for 1/4 piecing with the 1/4inch foot. This causes the fabric to be only partially on the feed dogs and can cause difficulties in getting started and staying straight at the end so I move my needle to the right (5.5mm width) and use the edge of my standard pressure foot (J foot for Baby Lock, A for Janome) as my guide. This way I am taking advantage of all the feed teeth and my ride is a little smoother. I hope this tip help decrease your quilting stress!
