California is always golder. Not in the glimmering, sparkling way, but in the overwhelming, oversaturated California way.
Quinces (known as kydonia in Greek), growing wild in Vlachokerasia forest. Read more below about the plant. Learn more about our online courses on herbal medicine & aromatherapy in jointheflow.net Discover my books on bodywork and more: amzn.to/3xhaNey High in pectin, they are used to make jam, jelly and quince pudding, or they may be peeled, then roasted, baked or stewed; pectin levels diminish as the fruit ripens. The flesh of the fruit turns red after a long cooking with sugar by formation of anthocyanins. The seeds may be used medicinally, as they are rich in mucilage. This mucilage has the same properties as that which is derived from linseed. A raw quince is 84% water, 15% carbohydrates, and contains negligible fat and protein (table). In a 100-gram (3+1â2-ounce) reference amount, the fruit provides 238 kilojoules (57 kilocalories) of food energy and a moderate amount of vitamin C (18% of the Daily Value), but no other micronutrients of significant quantity. The quince (Cydonia oblonga) is the sole member of the genus Cydonia in the family Rosaceae. Promise of things (quinces!) to come. I love the furry edges on the new leaves, and the flowers are so delicate as they unfurl from the buds. #gardening #floweroftheday #quincetree #blossomtime #spring #petals #promiseofthingstocome (at Moyston, Victoria, Australia) https://www.instagram.com/p/CFwbbT6BKfK/?igshid=17mc0op6jonov
