the small fandom experience really is just "okay, so there's 170 fics, but when i filter out the crossovers and the explicit stuff that narrows it down to 150, and then when i filter out all the romance cause im really not in the mood for that it goes down to 80, and THEN when i filter out my very specific triggers- oh goddammit theres only 45 left, and then i cant stand the way this set of authors ruthlessly butchers everyone down so stereotypes, so that narrows it down to 25. okay. reading the same things 100 times over and over again it is, i guess"
