Why is Scarlet O'Hara an ESTP and not ESFP? She's very pragmatic when it comes to survival, but that could be Te, not necessarily being a thinker (plus she's a 3). I just find her incredibly emotional to be a thinker, her behavior makes little sense to me. Her downfall is due to her acting on feelings and not seeing the logical implications her actions will lead to, which sure, could just be inferior Ni. By the way, do you think she's an SP dom or SX dom?
Scarlett has zero Fi. None. She has no internal moral code or value system preventing her from doing whatever is necessary to survive; she has no internal Fi that does not want to marry people she doesn't even like in preference for love (unlike other Fi heroines in books and films from ye olden times -- "But Papa! I DON'T LOVE HIM!!!"). She has no need or desire to maintain emotional relationships with her sisters, either. She's more rational than her hot-headed father, who is the one truly going off half-cocked most of the time. Rhett is right in that she is not like other girls, and they are alike, because they are both TP opportunists.
Every single time a feeler around her (Melanie, Ashley, her father, her sisters) brings up the moral or ethical side of the situation, Scarlett scoffs at it and points out the logic. "But Scarlett," Melanie protests, "you're doing business with the people who robbed us and beat us!" And Scarlett just moves to a different counter to keep counting her money, because "Yankees are the only people who can afford things!"
Her mistakes come from tert-Fe and her 4 wing. Tert Fe doesn't realize she loves Rhett until it's too late. Her 4 wing is spiteful rather than genuine and pushes him away when she should draw him in; it chooses to flxate on Ashley (someone she thinks she wants but can't have, her romantic ideal) rather than enjoy the man she has; and the second he walks away from her, in true frustrated longing fashion, THEN Scarlett wants him, because she can't have him now. In romance, she IS irrational, you're right. She wants a limp tepid Ashley instead of the strong-willed Rhett, because her feelings are so immature and she's spent so long pushing them aside in favor of doing what is expedient and opportunustic (SeTi). But when it comes to Everything Else, Scarlett is a ruthless logician. I need money = I'll marry someone I don't care about to get it. He's no good at business = I'll take over and make tons of money.
She's sp/sx. Her self-preservation outweighs all other concerns, and she puts sx on the back burner to ensure she has money and food and pretty clothes and pays her taxes so she can keep her property. :)

I asked earlier about working under a broken capitalist system... I guess what I'm really asking is how do I gain back my sense of autonomy working at a shitty job that I need?
This is the ultimate question and I don’t know that I have a great answer. I’ve struggled with this as well, especially during the last two years as I’ve been a full time graduate student and had to work on top of that. I feel as though I have little time for myself and my passions. It’s a great privilege to have a job one actually likes and is fulfilling. Even for those who like their jobs, how does one balance having a sense of self and having to sell their labor in order to survive in this capitalist system? Again, I don’t think I have a satisfying answer. But here are some thing I do. I try and prioritize time for myself, even if it’s not a lot of time. I try and come up with my go to self care activities and the things that fuel me and devote what time I can to them, even if it’s not a lot. For me, that’s time with my cats, time listening to music and journaling, reading, taking a hot bath, texting friends funny memes throughout the day when I can. It’s the little things one has to do in order to make it through the day sometimes. I would love to hear from other people about what they do to try and maintain their sense of autonomy while working under an exploitative late stage capitalist system. Sending you my best, friend. Thanks for reaching out, I hope this can help in some small way.
