Recipromantic: Let's talk about micro labels 101!
Micro labels are “smaller” labels that fall underneath a broader umbrella term.
For example, under the ☂️Asexuality☂️ umbrella, we also have:
demisexuality
graysexuality
cupiosexuality
etc!
They're often used to describe more specific, or slightly different, experiences that still make sense to group under the overall umbrella term.
But relating to the micro label doesn't always mean you relate to the umbrella term. For example, you might be recipromantic, which falls under the aromantic umbrella, but still very much experience romantic attraction!
While some people see micro labels as "too complicated," plenty of people find it very validating to have words to describe their experiences.
