During the residency, I stopped taking testosterone after 10 years of βhormone therapyβ to render my #transqueer body a site of literal and metaphorical #genderabolition. Thank you @baxterstccny for letting us #takeover and share our process. For Shimmer Shimmer @alafemmegaze and I headed to our #queersanctuary at #riisbeach to make photographs that speak to our experiences of claiming space (and subjectivities) for our #transqueer & #queerfemme selves. We made a commitment a long time ago to always make work that is meaningful to our lives, even if it means we need a free-flowing tap of #creativesolutions to make this life. And in the throes of the current pandemic, #NYonPause, and #socialdistancing , it is clearer than ever that this life is only possible within the love of our #creativecommunity.
