Queermas is THIS FRIDAY at the Carbondale Civic Center - we hope to see people there, and don't forget it's completely FREE and open to EVERYONE so bring your chosen family and enjoy some queer holiday spirit! 🏳️‍🌈🎅🏳️‍🌈

To all my lgbtqia+ out there who are celebrating, and especially to those who can’t go home and whose blood relatives threw them out:

You have a family here.

You have people who love you here.

You have me who wish she had a massive house and could invite you all to stay for the whole holiday season and spare you the stress and anxiety this time can bring.

So to all of you, out or not, accepted or not,

this is my first christmas estranged from my biological family (for very good reasons; but it’s still painful and difficult). as an attempt at a christmas celebration & distraction, I’m headed right now to the local cinema to watch The Shape of Water with

-my partner

-one of my best friends, who was also my first lady-love/r and instrumental in my figuring out I was queer (as I was for her)

-my friend’s current partner

-my partner’s best friend
