Hey, a selfie!
I am saying this as a Bisexual person who has experienced Biphobia and Homophobia. Who has experienced Bierasure. Who has had their morals questioned all because of their sexuality.
When you potray a bisexual character in a negative way you are spreading harmful stereotypes about bisexuality.
As creative people within a fandom(s) we have the tools to re-work how bisexual people are explored in media.
All too often bisexual people are shown as overly promiscuous people who cheat, lie, manipulate and abuse their partners.
All too often Bisexual people are written as characters who purposely wreck other characters relationships or cheat on the person they are so 'in love' with because they are bored.
Bisexuals are portrayed as 'greedy' characters who just refuse to choose a side when Its not about choosing a side, its about loving a person.
All too often a canonly gay or straight character is written as bisexual as a way to erase that characters sexuality. Bisexuality is not a clever or cute way to turn a canonly gay character straight. Nor is it a clever or cute way to turn a canonly straight character gay. All you are doing is furthering the stereotype that bisexuality doesn't exist. Which is so untrue. It does exist.
Bisexual character do experince internalized homophobia and biphobia. It is impotant that this is shown in such a way not to erase the characters sexual identity. It is important that this is not used against the canon to discredit a characters canon sexuality. If the character is canonly gay dont argue that they are bisexual because of one 'straight' moment. (example Bebe's magical boobs and creek)
When you use bisexuality in a negaive way in fandom you are spreading these stereotypes. Nothing can change unless we change it. If we want better represention we need to demand it.

I'm bisexual and the fact I'm in a relationship with a male does not make my bisexuality invalid 💜💙🌈
here’s to hoping we all become lesbians real soon :)
