Today was a day off the slopes, but we made a good day of it! Started with some delicious breakfast from Halo (cafe), then organised luge and the ledge bungy at the top of the Skyline gondola complex!

Luge is heaps of fun, racing down the winding track overlooking the town and lake. And then doing the bungy haha. This was the first time I've ever bungy-jumped, and it was great fun! Definitely nervous at the start, and I can't remember running off the ledge, but the free fall was a completely different experience - not scary (believing the setup was safe!), kinda fun and exciting! Then the recoil haha. The pull back and change of force was something else, and I wasn't expecting it, so pretty sure I had a good groan haha. Still, lots of fun, and I've done it now!

Queenstown - Cardrona (16/08/16 - 17/08/16)

Two more days at Cardrona for me! Kris was unwell and stayed off the mountain these two days, so it was just me to cruise Cardrona.

I had heaps of fun exploring a good chunk of the mountain over the days - lots of varied runs of all different difficulties!The mountain has some amazing views around the valley as well. The gross selfie is facing back to Queenstown, and was completely silent when I took it - was an unusual and relaxing place to stop for a few minutes.

On the drive up the mountain on the last day, I met 3 French girls hitchhiking to the top for a day on the snow. Something I wouldn't normally do, but I had the room in the car, so I gave them a lift! Was different and fun to chat to them on the drive, and is kinda the way so many people are friendly on the slopes! Unfortunately didn't get a photo for proof, but that wasn't on my mind haha.

On the same day in the afternoon, I was getting more used to a few small jumps and things in the small park. The top photo is probably my best attempt at doing a grab off a jump, and there was a photographer there to capture it! This was really fun to try out and get better at over the few days at Cardrona! Definitely had a lot of fun here - so much variety in the runs, and plenty of places to force me to get better!

Queenstown - Cardrona (15/08/16)

Today was the first time visiting Cardrona! 

The resort has some great views of the surrounding area (at least one run can see back to Queenstown), and a good chunk of the runs are nice and wide. Also great snow!We had some good fun here - easier for Kris to practice and get better than at the Remarks, and I was able to play around with some small jumps!

Queenstown (14/08/16)

Queenstown - Remarkables (11/08/16 - 13/08/16)

The first few days of the trip have been great! We spent 3 days in a row at the Remarkables, and pretty much all were bluebird.Emma and BJ joined us for the last 2, and that was heaps of fun - seeing them board pushed me to try some new stuff, and it was great to have more people to share the holiday with for a short while.

Had some delicious meals so far as well! Coyote Mexican (nachos and chimichanga, some of the best I've ever had)Brazz (with Emma and BJ - steakhouse; we had ribs, steak, and parmi)Hikari Japanese (with Emma and BJ - delicious Japanese food; we had sushi, gyoza, chicken katsu, mussels, tempura udon, beef teriyaki, and a bunch of tasty sake!). Ended up going out to Barmuda after dinner - lots of fun and interesting watching the bartenders make cocktails!Coyote Mexican... again (with Emma and BJ - shared dips, and had enchilada + chimichanga, fajitas, squid (sizzling dishes), and magaritas and tequila shots!).
