The theme of the 31st Tokyo international mineral show is inclusions. Despite not knowing the show theme til a week ago, I just so happen to have some serious new inclusion pieces freshly cut in time for the show. This one is super interesting. Hematite platlettes isolated in quartz with a thin veil of water surrounding it, giving it a rainbow sheen at certain angles. I’ve had a few colleagues tell me to keep it and add it to the collection. I’ve been playing with some crystals in the collection. This one is one the took my breath away the instant I saw it. It is a DT floater crystal with a 1.2cm complete Herkimer diamond shaped negative inclusion manifestation crystal inside, which also contains a giant enhydro three phase liquid and air pocket inside the negative space. While this occurrence is somewhat common on a micro level, it is quite uncommon to have such a large bubble in such a well defined negative crystal.
