— Max suddenly remembering how to open the door always felt a bit strange to me, simply because it's too great of an epiphany. Up until this point, their epiphanies have been slow and short. This was a huge leap, and I can't shake the idea that Tess is interfering in the process yet again. 🤔

— Isabel straight up refuses to believe any of this, but we know she's still freaked out about her dreams with Michael, so I gave her a pass. Gone are the days when Isabel was blasé about her alien identity and playing CDs in her ear with her powers.

— Michael's stunned expression tells the entire story. Max cares about his family, but Michael always wanted to know the truth… Which makes him an easy target in Tess' hands.

Nasedo: You saw that camera. Who do you think put it on them in the first place? Our friend, Pierce.

— It was actually your friendly neighborhood waitress, Liz Parker. In a genius move, I might add. 🎯

— This was the time when the writers were trying to convince us that Tess, while manipulative, genuinely wanted her family back. Of course, now I have to pretend season 2 doesn't exist…

Nasedo: Pierce is dangerous. You all still need me if you expect to survive him.

Kyle: Well, what do you say we start speaking the most ancient language known to man?

— Geez, Kyle has the corniest pick-up line ever! 🤣

Kyle: So, what language is this? Tess: It's a lost language. Kyle: Then no one will mind if we don't find it.

— He has a great sense of humor, though! 🤣

Max: Michael, if Nasedo is doing anything to you, you can't trust it. Michael: Hey, I remembered it, ok? I had a flash.

—Maybe, but where did that flash come from? I call these flashes 'shenanigans' just like the dreams in this episode, and I am blaming it all on Tess. 🤔

Max: I said nothing happened. We'll talk to Isabel in the morning.

— What's there to talk about if nothing happened?! Michael doesn't question this. 😏

— This conversation between Isabel and Michael is truly terrifying. It mirrors perfectly the conversations between young couples (not aliens) when confronted with unwanted pregnancies. Social commentary at its finest! Anyway, I always found little bit silly for Isabel to think she could get pregnant in a dream…

Tess: It's time. You understand, don't you? Max: Tell me. Tell me what I'm feeling.

— If you don't know how you feel, it's not some alien stranger that's going to tell you. I mean, why would anyone trust a stranger like that? 🙄

Max: How many other victims will there be after tonight? Alex?

— These were the times I truly believed that the show was prophetic. In reality, it's a lot more 'chaotic writing'. This was an unhappy accident that turned out to be true… #RIP #AlexWhitman

— Even if that memory is genuine, there's a big difference between realizing that the little girl in the pod grew up to be Tess and understanding the reason why they were put in the pods to begin with…

Michael: Hey. What the hell did you do to him? To all of us?

Max: Michael, stop it. She's not Nasedo. Isabel: Then who is she, Max? Max: She's one of us.

— Michael's brain is pretty scrambled by those dreams. He usually takes Maria's humor in stride, but he's so freaked out that nothing she says sounds funny to him.

Alex: The word glacial comes to mind.

— This always makes me sad, because Isabel is just having this attitude due to being freaked out by the dreams. She didn't have any epiphany on how good Alex is or how great a relationship with him would be. Poor Alex... 😢

Maria: Ok. You should have more of these tortured sleepless nights.

— They were not sleepless, Maria… Tortured, yes. 🥴

Isabel: Alex and I are together now. Michael: Maria and I are going steady. Maria: Must be something in the water.

— It's better that neither Maria nor Alex know the truth, although that's inevitable…

Max: He won't listen to you. Liz: You know, he might. He trusted me once. Maria: Did you listen to him when he warned you about Max?

— Touché! 🎯 Except, Max was the good guy, and Kyle was wrong about him... and jealous.

Max: Michael's been doing this all his life, you know. Always thinking he knows better than us, but always just getting us into more trouble.

— That's true, but then again, if it wasn't for Michael's chaotic behavior, you'd still be completely unaware of anything regarding your origins. It's a double-edged sword, really.

Max: I don't even know if that's what we are. I mean, that's what we've pretended to be for so long, but…

— Just going by the information in Season 1, the pod squad absolutely fits the definition of ‘family’.

Liz: You are who you choose to be. Just like, just like you're with who you choose to be with.

— Wise words! 👏 If only Liz could follow her own advice... 🤔

Liz: Oh. What was it like… um, you know, kissing her?

— Oh, Liz… You don't really want to know that. That morbid curiosity will be the death of you…

Max: It was upsetting. It made me feel things about myself I didn't like.

— It's called 'mindwarp'. Ugh, forget it! If you need any more proof than a person can be telling the truth and still not being taken seriously, Max's words tell the whole story.

Liz: Oh my God, what is she doing with Kyle? Max: Whatever it is, it can't be good.

Mr. Harding: Well, thank you, Sheriff. I feel safe in your hands.

— Why is it that everything he says sounds so creepy?! 😱

Maria: She's playing hard to get. It's a classic move. She ignores you, thinking it's going to make you crazy and force you to go to her.

— Maria is a prophet, she really is. How is it possible that she knows so much about the human/alien condition at such a tender age?

Max: I don't need a babysitter. Maria: No, you're right. What you need is a bodyguard – at all times.

— Maria was the Cassandra of the group; nobody believed this plan, but this plan really did need to be implemented!

Sheriff: Isn't that against the law, Mr. Evans? I wish you'd stop doing that… I need you people to remember something… The more I know, the safer you'll be.

— This was very hard to believe, especially the first time I watched the show. Valente had this gift of sounding really menacing…

— Did Tess mindwarp Diane to make her spill the beans about Isabel and Max's entire lives? It seems unlikely that she would just share such intimate moments with a complete stranger... 🤔

Tess: I'm sorry… I didn't mean to make you nervous. Isabel: You don't... You don't make me nervous.

— You're the worst liar ever, Isabel! 😜

— I mean… If I were having those kinds of thoughts about my best friend I would freak out as well. But again, Isabel can't even pretend that she's not freaked out about all of this.

Isabel: It was like I lost a few seconds of time, and when it was over, I wasn't even sure if what I remembered had happened or not. Is that what she did to you? Max: Kind of. It was like she could make my mind go places I wasn't taking it.

— The Roswellian definition of 'mindwarp'. 🎯

Max: Why didn't you tell me about this, Michael? Michael: You mean why didn't I get your approval?

— No, Michael, he means why didn't you share vital information about your possible origins with your best friend. I love Michael to bits but he can really be a dumbass sometimes. 🤦‍♀️

Michael: Why are you so scared to be an alien? Max: Why are you so scared to be human?

Alex: I've been waiting to hear that, Isabel. And I want to be the only one for you, cause you're the only one for me.

— Poor Alex never wins, not even in dreams… 😢

— Liz seems a lot more confident here than in the last episode. This was a good course correction. Max keeps trying to warn people that Tess is dangerous and that he doesn't feel well around her, but only now are they taking notice.

Liz: She'll never suspect anything. Max: She's dangerous. Never forget that.

— And then she ignores him, because thinks she can control the situation and stay two steps ahead of Tess… ☹️

Tess: Then, tell me: why is everybody following me?

— Maybe Tess is not mindwarping Liz here, but she couldn't have put this in a creepier way. 😱

Liz: No. She acted totally innocent. I'm telling you, she has no idea that we found out about her.

— Yes, she acted innocent, but that sly voice shows she knows exactly what you are doing! 🤦‍♀️

— For once, Isabel's right, but I understand Michael's desire to know about his origins. He can't help himself, he's so desperate for answers, poor guy.

Michael: You just want to deny who we really are? Max: I want us to stay who we really are! Don't you?

— That's the crux of the matter that has been plaguing the pod squad since the beginning. Michael's quest for identity is bound to mess up everybody's lives, including his.

Isabel: No! Stay away from her, Alex.

— Keep out of this, Alex!! Boy, it's really difficult to pretend like the second season doesn't exist… 😭

Liz: We can only trust each other, now more than ever.

— That's true, but that doesn't really work with regards to a shapeshifter. #NoSpoilers

Alex: We can't just sit around and wait for her to do something to one of us. Isabel: Please, Alex, I don't want anything bad to happen to you.

Tess: Look, whatever you think happened before was a mistake - that you made.

— Mindwarp alert, Mindwarp alert! 🚨🚨

Liz: Max, Tess and I have already straightened everything out. I'm not leaving without you.

— Her tone is clearly meant to convey that it's too dangerous for Max to be there and they need to leave ASAP. Luckily, Harding and Tess are none the wiser.

Max: You put yourself in danger. Thanks… for believing in me. Liz: I went on faith… a lot of it.

— Faith and the certainty that he would never willingly cheat on you, since you've seen into his soul, right? Right?! 😨

Liz: I don't know if there'll ever be reason enough to explain that.

— There's a very simple reason: it's called MINDWARP! 💢😠 #FightTheManipulation

— How did we get from 'you can't just break into people's houses' to Liz volunteering to carry the camera herself?! 🤯

— I must say: this is the most awkward conversation I've ever seen. If I didn't know anything about the show, I wouldn't be sold on the idea that Liz is head over heels in love with Max, judging by her interaction with Tess here.

Tess: And I like Isabel, but I like you. And the last thing I want to do is wreck that.

— It's astonishing how bold-faced her lies can be! I'm not as surprised that Liz believes her (because Liz wants to believe the best in people), but it certainly gets more and more infuriating the more times I watch this.

— I really have to give this guy props for his performance! He looks so weird and inhuman in his interactions with normal humans that it becomes comical, as well as menacing.

Maria: We sent her in. We're responsible.

— Somehow, it's difficult to believe that they pushed Liz into volunteering… Did they draw straws to figure out who would go there?! Somehow, I don't see that happening at all. 😕

Max: Liz, what's going on? Is something wrong?

— Uh, when your girlfriend calls you "mom", it's pretty obvious that there's something wrong, isn't it, Max?
