2016-07-03 There is a difference between working in an industry that is considered production and an industry that is considered testing. I have recently worked in both. I am an analyst, whether that is business or dats, or quality. All, are important. But not all give the same sort of satisfaction when it comes to having a job function. I worked in Medicare for most of my carrier. Whether it was support or service, it was also almost always production. Except for the last seven years. Those last seven years are where it gets tricky. I worked for a testing group. I created and test scenarios based on code that was being pushed down from above. The code was usable, functions,, but poorly written and horribly mismanaged. The governing party that over sought the whole program was lousy at it because no matter where you were below them, your management kissed their ass to maintain the status quo, but then would corrupt the message on the way down to us. At almost every level, the system was, and is completely broken. In fact, if you have any aspirations of working for QSSI or DCCA in the STC, do yourself a favor; wrap a rubber band around your balls, tight as you can, and then let them fall off. If you follow in line there, that will eventually happen. Neither of those business want anyone to shave an opinion of their own, and they certainly do not want you to have any self respect or personal value. And a lot of government contracts are like that. You suffer under the management of someone whom isn't fit to care for hamsters, and yet someone felt they were satisfaction enough to manage people. This is more a message of hope for those still stuck, punishing themselves in a job with either of the above mentioned companies. There is life outside of them. There is better out there.
