Hey there! This is my first digital painting. I was inspired by this piece below, which is about La Llorona, a Latin American folk tale/urban legend about a weeping mother who has lost her two children, because they drowned. The take varies depending on where you live.

The moment I lay my eyes on this artwork, I thought of Maximus. The long black hair, the sorrow, the dead children. It just fits him perfectly. We have four skulls, one for every child he has ever lost: Trumpet, Sofia and the twins.

I chose green instead of the red and bluish hue in the original because of The Codes and the disease they gave Maximus. The watcher eye just felt appropriate as the Purgatory "sun".

I obviously do not have the skill of the original artist, but I just had to do something. Hope you enjoy!
