I feel like you could use Claire's speech bubble as a pretty good template for all sorts of nonsense stuff
Let’s talk about another grounding exercise: sight.Â
At times, I will dissociate from the moment. The way I’ve found to help combat this is usually to start becoming hyper-aware of what’s around me. I’ll note to myself: “The red light, the green sign, 21st street, red sedan, green truck, the time says 10:31,” on and on, keeping myself within the present moment by focusing so intently on what I can see, to tell myself what is going on.Â
Becoming aware of what is around me, reminds me of where I am, and begins to draw me back in. It forces me to acknowledge everything around me, as it moves, how it moves, what it says.
I don’t know why it works.Â
I got the idea from a Questionable Content comic where one of the AIs was having a dissociative episode, and it’s worked for me.Â
Said comic can be found here:Â https://www.questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=4354
The context is that the robot had her mind put into another body, and she’s having trouble adjusting to being in that body because it “isn’t her”.Â
Focusing on sensations can help to pull you back in the midst of panic, anxiety, or dissociation. I prefer to use sight for it, but all of these methods can be of use.Â
I really like seeing these two dorks together
Thanks Jeph, this song has now been stuck in my head for two full days! Two days!
It doesn't even have music!

This is a face that says "I am your friend's stepmother, I am a responsible adult, so I am trying VERY HARD not to laugh at you, even though your life is basically just slapstick chaos."
I love Veronica a lot
Yay Newfriend on their first appearance: terrifying power, implications of their mere existence are extremely concerning, does good stuff out of spite/personal whim
Yay Newfriend now: has their roommate giving them How To Be A Person advice, comes off as a weird little nerd, keeps accidentally blurting out their secrets to people
What I love is that this characterisation feels in no way inconsistent, this is just the natural effect of Finally Letting Yourself Socialise
