Mari's questions:

If you could travel to anywhere for free for one day only where would you go? For just one day? Probably Seattle. I’d want to get lost in Pike Place Market, a good coffee shop, and the public library there.

If you were a bear and could choose a season to hibernate in what season would you choose? WINTER! I hate the dark and the cold. If I could sleep all the way through it, that would be fantastic (wake me up for Christmas, please)

A famous person you cannot stand? I dunno...Tim Allen's standup gets on my nerves

Lets say you can’t watch your favorite sport anymore, what sport do you watch instead? Oh man. I barely watch any sports besides football (soccer). But if I couldn’t watch that anymore I’d probably choose basketball.

If you had to be trapped in an elevator with a member of your family who would you choose? My brother! He would inevitably find some way to make it funny. 

Have you ever accidentally injured yourself so bad you had to go to the ER? Yeah…when I was little I pulled a pinecone off a tree branch and it whipped me on the side of my head and a pine needle punctured my eardrum. That was an awful day.

What movie would you want to be an extra in? Lord of the Rings! I think it’d be super awesome to be an extra in the Battle of Helm’s Deep in the Two Towers.

If you could change one characters fate in any one book, who’s fate would you change? This is really obscure, but I'd make it so Gus in The River King didn't die. I know that's the pretext most of the book is based around. But I'd like to see how he and the main girl (don't even remember her name?) would've interacted if he had lived.

Favorite band/musician? Sounds cliché, but probably Coldplay. I really love their lyrics, and I grew up with them so a lot of the songs are nostalgic for me.

If you could be omnipotent ruler for a week, what would you try to change? So this is really idealistic, but I’d try to get it through everyone’s skulls that problems aren’t solved by sitting back and complaining about things. Or even just voting. Sometimes you have to take initiative and do things yourself because small groups of people do have positive impacts on the people around them, and the more people there are out there doing good things, the less we have to worry about big government doing it for us. In fact if the people in government thought that way too, it wouldn't even be a problem. 

What size shoe do you wear? I have ginormous feet – 9.5 in American sizes.

What’s been your favorite vacation? What’s your dream vacation? Favorite vacation was this summer, visiting Belgium, London and Thailand! My dream vacation right now is to be in Barcelona during the 2014 World Cup.

Your dream superpower? Understanding every language I hear around me, and being able to speak it in return.

Favorite word? I like a lot of words, especially in poetic combination with each other : ) I can’t pick just one!

What’s your favorite holiday? Pascha (Easter) – it’s so big in my church. Most joyful day of the year!

What’s your biggest dream? To be a joy to those around me.

What’s one food or drink you wouldn’t ever want to live without? COFFEE

The person you miss the most? My brother because he lives in another town. But my grandpa passed away a few years ago and sometimes I find myself missing him.
