For the past few months Naraku remained in his castle shrouded by darkness. Ruby orbs glued to the images moving about within that fragile mirror held by his incarnation. Villagers moved to and fro, but Naraku paid them no mind. No... all that held his attention was an all to familiar priestess as she carefully tended to the wounded. Kikyo.
For the past few days... it had been like this. The spider would spend vast amounts of time observing her, Onigumo’s heart distracting him from his true objective more frequently as the minutes passed. It annoyed him to no end, the demons within him squirming with discomfort and whispering to him to cast the wretch from his mind. But why couldn’t he? It had never been this difficult before. The persistent images continuing to consume his mind despite his frustration.
The spider eventually stood, dismissing his incarnation before retrieving his baboon cloak and draping it over his person. Naraku exited his abode a moment later, slipping into the foliage of the woods. It was close. Naraku took off into a sprint, leaping over roots and fallen logs as he navigated his way to the very village he knew she would be. When the spider reached the tree line that emerged out into the village, Naraku stopped and ducked behind a tree. A moment passed before he turned his gaze to survey the village until it landed on Kikyo. The priestess seemingly unaware of his foreboding presence... for now at least.
