What are your top considerations when purchasing everyday items (e.g. price, aesthetic, quality, vibe, something else)?
Quantity for price value. I could care less about the product brand itself as long it does the job. But I’m not going to just spend money on a product if it’s package quantity is not worth buying for. How I buy products, is getting more for less. For example, if one dish detergent is 4.99 for 8 oz. and another dish detergent is 5.49 for 6 oz., then obviously I’m going with the for the 4.99 bottle. But hear is the tricky situation with prices. Say that 5.49 bottle goes on sale for 3.99. I would still buy the 4.99 bottle because I’m still getting more even if I’m paying one dollar more than the sale bottle. BUT......if the 5.49 bottle goes are sale for a different price...say 2 for 2.74 each. Then it’s worth buying two bottles because now you’re paying 12 oz for the price that it was originally sold as one bottle.
But say now that the 4.99 going on sale for 3.49. and the sale for the 5.49 goes for Buy One Get One Free. Which is more valuable to buy? Well that easy. It’s the BOGO one. Because the BOGO is buy the one for 5.49 and second one is free. Or it can split 2.74 and 2.74, depending on the store. The 3.49 sale, however, if you buy two of them, then it rings at a total of $7 before tax for 16 oz.
But wait? 16 oz is more than 12 oz. Isn’t that worth buying more? Not exactly. Even though you are getting more, you have to spend two more dollars plus tax for more where as the BOGO you’re spending for the price of just bottle plus tax and gaining 6 more oz for free. In my opinion, it’s more about how to save money on products.
