Now the answer is complicated. Normally puppets can't get sick from human illnesses. Sometimes they can feel a little under the weather but they don't really get sick. BUT there is one puppet sickness spreading!

RUST! Basically the magic in their fluff is slowly losing magic. Causing their body's to slowly break down and kill them. (Info under picture)

Well he, in a sense, succeeded! Once Scotsman finds out he did it, Vinnie will get 'attention'...

For Vinnie yes he was terrified at first... But slowly realized that his obsession for Scott is overwhelmingly high...

Vinnie is known by the industry as a puppet who definitely tries to break anyone (mostly puppets who try to compete with him) to snap on him to fight him. Vinnie is obsessed with fighting. Though he's a sly fox and makes it look like the other person is at fault completely.

Regardless, this "unhealthy hobby" of Spencer's could make him spiral even faster! Heck, what if he starts operating his engine while under the influence? He's putting his life in danger! Whose going to teach Thomas all about mythical creatures if he kicks the can? (If I remember correctly, Spencer likes mythical creatures) He's going to need an intervention. Maybe Scott, Gordon...maybe even Mama and Papa Gresley, or the couple that raised him (I forget their names) could intervene. Or do they know? If they don't...well...

Scott, Gordon, your cousin Spencer is spiraling...

Puppets can get affected by alcohol a similar way humans can though not all puppets can get affected by it the same way it truly depends on how much their golden wool can handle-

heck even Scott can get affected by alcohol, if it's regular beer that won't affect him one bit.... but when it's something stronger he's a lil bit of a happy drunk..

Though Truro cannot get affected by alcohol as much- eventually after enough drinking that can kill a group of people he might get tipsy

But anyways back to Spencer...

(though, I figured doing it in the same comment section would be too long. So, I'm sending it here, but don't feel obligated to answer at all. This is just me spit-balling.)

So, we know Smudger was turned into a generator in the model series, right? Right. He can't move or do anything.

So, hypothetically speaking, in this AU, he could have been victim to wicked humans (maybe he worked at one of those horrid factories) and lost his original limbs for being quote, "out-of-line" *insert obvious air-quotes here*. And is left immobile as a quote "example" *bigger air-quotes*.

Fast forward to the present time, and he's rescued, patched up (like Henry), and given work by Sir Steven Topham as a gesture of good will and an opportunity to heal, but like Spencer, Smudger is hostile to all humans and will not see reason, leading to many arguments between controller and puppet.

I could be completely wrong on so many levels, but it's just a theory...

Well you're definitely right Smudger definitely hates humans....

Because of what happened....

Humans were definitely rough on him we'll tell you that, he does get into bad arguments with Stephen Topham Hatt...

If the Puppets can eat stuff... Where does the food go? Does it disappear in their bodies? Do they digest the food? Or does someone manually remove the consumed food through some type of zipper in the backs of the puppets?

Why I ask this is because there are multiple times that the puppets (Even Thomas) are seen with food items and they presumably eat later. I'm just wondering if they actually "eat-eat" the food?

It's simple! It turns into energy! Fuels up their gold dust in their system! Kinda like when you put something in a fire, it makes it stronger but eventually they will burn that energy off.

Also it's because they love the taste of said food.

Basically there were once huge scrap factories , and back then puppets were treated like dirt unless they were a part of a very rich family.

Humans know that poor puppets have lost parts and all that, so any puppet that was redeemed useless they would be taken, and the scrap factories were prisons as well, they will cut parts until there's nothing left of them and sell the parts to poor puppets to buy.
