My first expirience with WWOOFing was both exciting and frightening. The very first farm we resided on was blissful at first. It was stunning and our work was rigorous but exactly what we wanted to do. We harvested, tended to the garden, weeded, watered, and we were allowed our own seperate projects. It was lovely. Then after about five days it turned sour. The farmer became vulgar, innapropriate, and targeted me specifically. He would corner me, ask me very innapropriate and uncomfortable questions, make disgusting comments towards my body and the type of “relationship” he wanted with me. It was not okay. Later that day he took the three of us the volcano, we’ll, that was the intention. After I told the other girls what had happened and how uncomfortable and threatened that I felt we were planning on how to get out of the situation. On the way to the volcano we stopped at Punaluu Bakery. The photo pictured. It was beautiful and had the most DIVINE pastries and sandwhiches. My goodness! Anyways, us girls went to the restroom and while away he became angry. We rushed out of the bathroom after an absurd phone call from him. He drives up to us screaming and threatening us. We grab our things from his truck and drives away, leaving us. Luckily, we got in touch with a saving grace. A Hawaiian momma that took us in and took care of us for a few days till we found another farm. While with our Hawaiian Momma we helped build Yurts and tended to her garden and weeding. It was a lovely expirience and her family is the possessed the purist kind of love I had ever seen. Never had I felt that kind of family bonding and trust within each person. It was so so comforting. Our next farm was absolutely perfect. The farmer was understanding and accommodating and friendly. The wwoofers already there became close friends instantly. Many adventures were had with those lovely ladies and Connor. I absolutely adore wwoofing. Even thought the first expirience was not great, I’m still going to jump in head first into more adventures in the wwoofing community!

*Heart shaped tide pool at Punalu'u Black Sand Beach The water is ice cold from the fresh water seeping thru the ground and mixing with the ocean water. There were tiny baby fish all around like it was a nursery of some sort. Not sure what kind of flowers these were but they weren't lotus flowers. Light lavender in color, they popped out if this fresh water next to the salt water of the black sand beach in Punalu'u. The water in the ocean was freezing from cold fresh water leeching in from underground and mixing with the ocean water. Tiny minnows were swimming in the water making it look like it was bubbling. The black sand beach had tiny baby fish in the ocean, almost like it was a nursery.
