The Pumpkin Patch tarantula (Hapalopus sp Colombia) is a hardy, New World, dwarf tarantula. This species is interesting because it comes in two forms. The Groot (large form) and the Klein (small form). The small form grows to a max size of about 3in (8cm) while the large form can reach a size of about 4.5in (12cm). They are a little nervous and quick to retreat into hiding when disturbed but mine spends a lot of time out on display. They arent very defensive but can be very fast, so not an ideal tarantula to attempt to handle frequently. But with the stunning and unique color pattern and adorable size, they make a great tarantula to add to your collection. Check out my YouTube video linked on this post for more information and some cool footage of this amazing species.
