Pulse 3 (2008)
V tieni predstaveného mega prenosného reproduktora JBL Boombox, ktorý zatienil nemenej zaujímavý a jeden z najkrajších na trhu: JBL Pulse 3.
Tento reproduktor je podstatne krajší oproti predchádzajúcej generácii. Napríklad JBL Pulse 2 nám veľmi pripomínal skôr lapač na hmyz. Teraz reproduktor podstatne narástol a vyhotovením skôr pripomína lávovú lampu ktoré v minulosti boli veľmi populárne a znova sa stávajú vyhľadávanými.
Vlastnosti
JBL pokračuje v nastavených parametroch posledných prenosných reproduktorov. To znamená, že aj JBL Pulse 3 je plne vodeodolný s certifikáciou IPX7. Kapacita batérie síce ostala rovnaká, ale optimalizáciou predĺžili výdrž o 2 hodiny (až 12 hodín prehrávania). Zmenšili síce samotné meniče, ale zas je o jeden navyše. To zabezpečuje rovnaký zvuk z akejkoľvek strany. Bohužiaľ sa to podpísalo na hmotnosti, keď reproduktor má 960g. Takisto je nahradený aj firemný patent z pôvodného JBL Connect na JBL Connect+.
Hlavnou devízou JBL Pulse 3 sú farebné svetelné efekty, ktoré zaberajú väčšinu reproduktora. Tie sú kryté lesklým priesvitným plastom. Aj keď sa zdá náchylny na rozbitie či poškriabanie, opak je pravdou. Vydrží drsnejšie zaobchádzanie a na povrchu sa to neprejavuje a reproduktor tak ostáva neustále ako nový. Jedine na povrchu ostávajú uschnuté kvapky vody a občas aj odtlačky prstov čo je viditeľné iba pri vypnutom reproduktore. Ale nie je to nič, čo neurobí občasné utretie.
Nastavujeme si farebnú hudbu
Aby ste si mohli nastaviť vlastné svetelné efekty sú dve cesty. Základne ovládanie sa nachádza priamo na reproduktore, ale je to veľmi obmedzené. Pre plné nastavovanie podľa vlastných predstáv, je potrebné si nainštalovať do vášho telefónu aplikáciu JBL Connect (iOS, Android). Zrazu sa vám odokryje nepreberné množstvo kombinácii na nastavenie osvetlenia vášho reproduktora. Máte na výber zo siedmych prednastavených režimov: Wave, Jet, Explosion, Equaliser, Rave, Rainbov a Fire. Posledný ôsmy je pre vaše prispôsobenie smeru animácie. V každom režime si môžete nastaviť aj farebný rozsah z prednastavenej palety farieb, alebo si farbu vybrať pomocou fotoaparátu v mobilnom telefóne. To je tiež rozdiel oproti JBL Pulse 2, kde bol senzor voliteľnej farby priamo na reproduktore. Takto to presunuli do aplikácie telefónu čo je šikovnejšie.

Pomocou aplikácie nastavujete aj jas podsvietenia a nastavenie JBL Connect + v prípade, že máte viac reproduktorov s týmto patentom. Pomocou JBL Connect + si môžete reproduktor prepojiť napr. aj s JBL Boombox, JBL Charge 3 alebo Flip 4.
Je možné, že raz čas sa vám objaví v aplikácii aj možnosť aktualizácie firmware reproduktoru, tak ako sa stalo aj nám. Síce nebolo písane čo sa vylepšuje alebo opravuje, ale pre istotu sme to aktualizovali. Samotný proces aktualizácie trval približne 7 minút.

Obsah balenia
V balení nájdete iba to najnutnejšie a nič navyše, aj keby sme privítali nejaké prenosné púzdro. Okrem povinného manuálu je pribalený USB kábel s microUSB koncovkou pre nabíjanie a ešte aj adaptér do zásuvky s našou koncovkou a pre US kontinent.
Záver
Približne dve veci nám chýbali na tomto reproduktore, aj keď vynikajúco už dopĺňa existujúce portfólio prenosných reproduktorov od JBL. Reproduktor Pulse 3 disponuje 6000mAh batériou rovnako ako JBL Charge 3, ale chýba mu USB port pre nabíjanie externých zariadení. Škoda toho, že už to nezaintegrovali. Druhá vec čo nám chýbala, bol nejaký malý otvor či pútko aby sme mohli nejakým spôsobom reproduktor zavesiť či uchytiť niekde. Tým ale končia negatíva tohto reproduktora.
Tento reproduktor si nájde svoje publikum ktorý chcú niečo nezvyčajné a pritom kvalitné. O kvalite reprodukcie pri produktoch od značky JBL netreba vôbec pochybovať. Za 60 ročnú históriu majú bohaté skúsenosti a navyše v USA je väčšina kín ozvučených touto značkou.
Ak si chcete oživiť svoj pracovný stôl, izbu alebo kanceláriu nie je nad čím váhať. Navyše dobre poslúži aj na chate či ako dobrý zdroj svetla ak si nastavíte farbu na bielu a vytiahnete jas na maximum. K dispozícii je v čiernom a bielom prevedení za cenu 239,- €.

JBL Pulse 3 does it sound good?
Today I'm looking at the JBL pulse 3. Heres a little fact for you if you're considering a similar speaker from another brand. James Bullough Lancing aka JBL have been in the audio game since 1946 and really specialise in professional audio equipment like those massive speakers you see at Glastonbury... And even Ferrari use @JBLaudio speakers in their current line up of luxury cars.
The pulse 3 is free of wires. It has three 40mm transducers that delivers 20 watts of power & a frequency response 65Hz to 20kHZ. The Pulse 3 offers you not just a beautiful 360 degree musical experience but also an impressive colourful led light show. There's nothing quite like a little light music to set the party off right?
So as you know it's quite difficult for you to gauge the sound quality from the video. So you're going to have to trust me on this one. The clarity it's very good. The acrylic casing around the majority of the speaker adds to its resonance and enhances the low end sounds. The 360 audio amplification is also enhanced by the flask like design. The passive radiators at either end are not only quite hypnotic to watch but also really bring the booms to your tunes. I really enjoy listening to this and I'm sure you will to.
So let's talk about some of the features on the JBL Pulse 3. This particular unit is an early release model here in Europe. Which means that at the moment the connect plus app hasn't been updated for the Pulse 3 yet. When it's ready you will be able to use the app to customise the audio eq and the light show patterns. If you happen to have 2 of these you can even set them up as stereo left and right channels. You will also be able pair the pulse 3 with over 100 other JBL Connect plus devices. All which can play from a single source... And that sounds like a good feature to me.
So you can mix and match your JBL Connect plus products. For example I have the JBL Flip 4 and by simply pushing the connect plus button on the device they will connect together. It's really that easy. Not only can you sync the audio but you can also sync the light show patterns across your pulse 3's. One more cool feature I should mention, if you want to quickly change the lights to another pattern/colour you can simply pick and shake it.
The Pulse 3 uses Bluetooth 4.2 with aptX which basically means you get a much better Bluetooth streaming experience than older portable devices. So of course because this is a heavyweight hitter of a portable speaker it does need some considerable power. Inside the JBL Pulse 3 is a 6000mah battery that takes around 4.5 hours to charge and will last up to 12hrs continuous playing with the impressive led light shows. The Pulse 3 weighs in at around 960 grams and is built to stand vertical with the dimensions being approx 22cm tall and 9cm wide. It's presence will not go unnoticed.
So I really think this a perfect speaker if your going on a beach holiday. The build quality with its acrylic, rubber and tight weave mesh makes this thing incredibly durable and it can resist dust and sand... And its IPX7 rating means it's waterproof... Now I know what you wanna see, so I threw it in the pool check out the video
Now let's look at the on board controls and ports. It has a power button, volume controls, a play and pause button. Bluetooth button a JBL connect plus button, and a dedicated button to switch the light patterns. It also has 5 leds to indicate exactly how much battery life is left. Underneath this rubber flap is its USB b charging port and an analogue input. It has everything you need to proceed with your listening experience.
So one more cool feature that will be available through the JBL Connect app is that you can set the pulse 3 to work with Google assistant and apple's siri. Turning it essentially into a smart home device. A good feature I hear you say!
That's it for this JBL pulse 3 #WhatGear Review and this is a world's first for me. This is the 1st time I have reviewed a product before its official release date. I want to say huge thank you to JBL for that, you guys are legendary. Also a big thank you to you to you for watching/reading this review. I just want to say One last thing... doesn't this kind of resemble one those precious stones from Indiana Jones Temple of doom...?
Anyway I believe this a great sound investment you should definitely go and check this one out.

So... I'm watching Pulse 3. It's awful. Plain and simple. The green screens are horrible. The story is stupid. I'm 30 minutes in (watching it on tv though). Justine just walked into an old farmhouse for the night on her journey to the city and met an older man. It should be noted I have never heard of this movie (or 1 or 2 for that matter). Ok. It's back. What'd he just say? Hasn't had what since his wife died? Oh Jesus. Maybe I don't understand the story, but why is she ok just sleeping at some random persons house? "Adam, show me your face." Oh please. Was that a dream? What the actual fuck was that? Now footsteps? My heart is racing. This movie is pretty scary, so I guess I shouldn't expect too much from the acting. I feel like coffee just shouldn't be assumed. Like, not everyone likes it, right? Or is it just me again? Like I feel like the scene outside this kitchen window is green screened. It's pretty bad. Nothing lists what the budget was. Do not go back! Idiot. He knocked her the fuck out. Commercial. Now I understand why this is on at 2am. On a channel on available with antenna. She's bleeding. And chained. And he's in a suit. Very 50 Shades. #yesallwomen Is he exorcising the computer? Or is this a pet semetary thing? Who dat? Who dat? I-G-G-Y? No, Sarah. This is just...what the fuck? The computer keeps showing her suicide? She has half a head. But hopefully both shoes. What did she eat? From his throat? Keep your mouth shut sweetie. Bye, Felicia. Yeah, ok. She breaking pipes. Happy now? You angrily type those messages! This is just a horror movie around an online relationship. Has it gotten to that level? Well, obviously, I guess. And this is a remake? Maybe I should look into the originals. She's walking in front of a green screen now with a poorly edited city around her. He has cameras around? "I can't do this anymore." Too late! Was that parseltongue? Who dat? Who dat? This little speech seems important. But idc! Oh look! A phone! These things can't talk? Mother? Oh damn. It was her mother?! Now what? Ugh. Commercial. This infomercial has said the P word like 3-4 times. Great. It's back and I need a cigarette. Hopefully this dog doesn't eat her. I see a random building with red lights in an abandoned city and the first thing I'd do is bang on the door too. Did her mother lead her here to find this? Is that his red room of fun? What the fuckkkk? She's surprisingly calm. He knows who he knows. It's inhuman? That's not human! They feel pain? This is so believable. He deserves an Oscar. Nomination at least. I love that Ryder Strong is top billed and in it for five minutes. Commercial. I want a Swirlio topping dispenser. Just the dispenser. He uses a lot of words I wouldn't expect him to understand. That many nuclear bombs would wipe out everything. Even you. So what's the point? Homeboy is talking and not realizing the girl is outsmarting him. I don't think your lack of sex started with this. That's a hell of a tongue. Bye, Felicia. There he is. He's a real boy! So he wanted to be real for her? Is it that cheesy? I assumed he used her to get real. I mean, he knew how and she was his only option. The editing on this! I feel like I could do better. From the Wikipedia article for the second movie: "The majority of the film's sets are actually photographs, with the actors inserted in." Ya don't say. Who dat? Who dat? Run, girl, runnnn Is he a dementor? Did he fist her throat too? All the bombs go off and they're ok? Tip a cow. I dare you. I don't get it. I'll give it a 3/10. It held my attention, but for all the wrong reasons.
