One interesting aspect of Veilguard is the way the storylines are framed in that kind of serialized episodic "tune in next week to find out what new doom is fighting Goku" way. I don't think it's executed particularly well, but there is something to having a game narrated by a man famous for writing serials, while all the characters around you are constantly discussing what books and newspaper serials they're reading and all of them have storylines that would easily fit into the plots of old dimestore pulp novels.
