It was so close at the end of 3 quarter time I was feeling so sick I’m just. So happy!!!! They did so well!!

OOH yes I love talking about this one :) this is my Waxer and Boil fic! It's in a canon divergent situation where the war ends all of a sudden and Waxer and Boil move to Ryloth to live with Numa. Each chapter of the story is told in two parts, one that takes in the past right after the war ended and one in the present while they're on Ryloth, usually with some sort of connecting idea between the two. Things aren't exactly. great for Waxer and Boil in either time. In the past they struggle with figuring out what to do with their lives now that they have their freedom, and in the present tensions start growing between them as they remain unsatisfied with their lives and don't always admit that there's an issue. Here's a little snippet about that :)

They're sitting on the floor by the door, back to back. Some part in the back of Waxer's mind realizes what a dumb position it is to be in, especially when the couches are less than ten feet away and anyone that walks in will for sure trip over them, but he doesn't feel like getting up.

He hears Boil sigh behind him and without thinking, he does the same. He laughs at that a little. It's weak and quiet and doesn't fill the space at all like Wooley's or Trapper's or Jester's did. The laughs of his brothers always sounded so much better than his.

"It's weird," he says, trying not to think about how his voice echoes off the walls in all the wrong ways. "This place feels so empty now that they're gone." He keeps staring at the little mat by the door they keep for their shoes. It was overflowing not even five minutes ago. Now all that's there is his shoes, Boil's boots, and one half of Numa's second favorite pair of slippers.

"I miss our brothers, Wax." Boil's voice is muffled, like he has his face in his hands. "I want to go home."

Waxer pulls his legs up to his chest. "You are home."

Boil stands up, and Waxer's back instantly grows cold. "No. I'm not," Boil says.
