So I learned that I have a vitamin D deficiency and that's probably what's causing most of my problems.
Including the RSI. That probably at least contributed to the RSI and is why it's taking so long to heal.
Like, I started having similar problems with my feet, so I went to the doctor to see what the heck was going on, and I've been suffering with painful feet for like... Seven weeks? Maybe a bit more.
A week into taking vitamin D supplements and I could do my usual workout with no foot pain today. Despite having an absolutely brutal week at work this week.
I have been paying such careful attention to every other nutrient but I just kind of assumed my vitamin D was fine because I wasn't particularly anxious or depressed, because those are the main things I associate with a vitamin D deficiency.
I really need to mention that I found this out by going to the doctor to ask them to investigate why the heck my body seemed unable to cope with my regular activities anymore. They did a blood test to check vitamin levels etc.
I thought maybe I was just middle aged and it's just Like This now but it also seemed extremely odd.
So yeah, if you seem to be getting weaker and you have muscle pains etc and you think 'oh I'm just getting old' or something... DON'T. Go and get it investigated, presuming you can afford to.
I have been suffering unnecessarily for MONTHS.
And don't just go 'oh I'll just take a bunch of vitamin D' - it could be any number of things, and if that's not the problem, you might make things worse. Vitamin D is toxic in excess.
